Hi, all! I played GW avidly for almost 2 years. I'm thinking about coming back. I never beat Nightfall and haven't played EotN. Here's my only concern. I'm worried because GW 2 is coming out, I don't know when, and I don't want to fork out cash then have to turn around and buy GW 2 because nobody's playing GW 1 anymore. Ideas? Advise? Is this a stupid concern?

I thought about WoW, but I'm not sure if it's my cup of tea. I gave my cousin my game, so no longer have it.

Persistent areas, similar to those traditionally used in other online multiplayer games, will be introduced to Guild Wars which may allow players to meet and interact while exploring.

Just that part of GW2 is a big turn off for me. Try questing when an area is full of farmers.

So dont worry about buying the other chapters, i'll be there to keep you company =)

The GW2 beta is not scheduled until late this year. The release dates 2009-10 were mentioned in interviews etc last year. So I wouldn't worry about having to come up with the GW2 purchase price anytime soon.

Buy the GW chapters and enjoy the game. You might not have time to max out some of the titles before GW2, but you'll have plenty of time to complete all the chapters, get all the skills, do it again in Hard Mode and so on.

Read information about Guild Wars 2 (aint much yet), if you like what you read, save up / wait for it, it will be in about 1-2 years though so maybe buy a campaign or expansion whilst you wait (they not too expensive now).

I heard GW2 - beta, in 2009, WoW, pay to play and kiddie graphics, I got someone on GW telling me to check out WoW, I did and the GfX put me off! It's like Flyff only you have to pay a monthly fee????

I think if you play the campaign or expansion for more than 2 months, you'd have made up for it against the subscription of any other game.

Why worry about the future, if you're putting up with a game now so that you can enjoy it in the future, you're playing it wrong. Enjoy every moment of the game.
