My iPod Nano is charging... it's one of the newest ones, generation 3...
It's plugged into my computer and it's displaying a battery filling up with green over and over.

Tech forum would have been the place to go. It will tell you when it's done. More than likely the icon will change, I think (haven't used mine in forever).

Mostly, the lithium batteries in ipods take 4 hours at most to charge from empty to full.
