So I have been wondering, what is a good configuration?

I usually run:

Trap one.
Second.
Third trap.
Another one.
QZ.
EW.
Whirling Defense.
TU.

16 WS, 13 Expertise, 9BM. And when I can start the group, I ask for a couple FS and one more EW. Today I got one of those jerks who believe themselves gods for having Rank 2 Hero/Champion/Gladiator. Says EW is fail, however I never had problems getting to 10 victories with PuG's (yes I do realize it lasts 17 seconds). So I ask your advice, if EW + QZ is fail, what's a good configuration.

[Trapper's Speed] = <3

It doesn't help with cost any but it helps recharge and activation time without boosting up the cost.

I use [[Echo](for [[Dust [email protected]]), but [[Spike [email protected]] or possibly [[Smoke [email protected]] can work as well. The spirits are flexible if you are in a group. I use the above build with 3 heroes to flawless 16 consecutives in Zaishen Elite for the 6K/day cap. No group or PuGs required. [[Energizing Wind] truly is not worth the trouble anymore, in my opinion.
