I try to solo some missions but they annoy me because the npcs (togo,mehnlo,rurik) all keep dying because they are idiots and run out by themselves before I'm ready. If you are burdened with the task of keeping them alive while you go out and fight, then the game should allow you to control them on the minimap just like hero's and henchmen.

Yeah, it's pretty annoying. But the problem's been around for ages, and nothing has been done about it. So I can't see this changing anytime soon.

I would like the option to be able to kill them myself though

Half the difficulty of the missions is surviving & winning whilst keeping them alive. If you could flag them way out back then it would be too easy, and its not even that hard as it is. The only bit thats hard is (possibly) vizunah square, where if the other team is henchies, togo/mhenlo may die before u reach em. But even then ur only 1 maybe 2 mins in so restarting aint that big a deal.

And who would control them? Player one?
Would make it too easy, flag them away whilst clear the way then flag them back to complete.

I would just make them like the Ghost in the desert missions where you can talk to them.
