in the least 2 months , atleast for me(and few of my friends) Guild wars became totally unplayable .
it's remind me those low budget unsuccessful games , where when u have just abit of a population and the game became unplayable .
usually on the weekdays i'm on average of 500-700 pings , and on those popular weekends it's 700-2k all the time .

today was the recored , we did AC urgoz run the out of 12 ..2 dc ,7 lost connection and the rest was standing there with 20k+ pings ...

and for the record my connection have no troubls , as i play 2 more online games without any lag issues

so just 1 thing WTB server maintenance more often

kthxbye

Maybe try defragging your Guild Wars folder (Power Defragmenter)?

Or... not sure, I've had no problems

No clues. I have pretty decent pings pretty much all the time. Yeah i get lag spikes here and there but i cant duplicate your prob.

Where are you from and what server are you on? Also what is your Anti-Virus? I have heard that a few of them like NOD32 need to have guild wars added as an exception. I know that NOD32's was in the IMON tab. GL and hope you find a way back to the game.

Like Lord said, be sure your anti-virus/anti spyware doesn't see GW as a threat nor as a scannable file (Because it takes ages, and if it's running... yah..)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hop_%28...munications%29

"# With routing a distance in terms of topology and of a length that may be not specified topographically, i.e. one hop is the step from one router to the next, on the path of a packet on any communications network (on the Internet often discovered with pings or traceroutes). The hop count then is the number of subsequent steps along the path from source to sink."

This is why the common either-or fallacy of "It's either my fault or Anet's fault" is outright wrong. You may be dropping packets on the path to the GW servers as a result of a hop that Anet has no control over.

The support team, if you contact them politely, will help you to run diagnostics to determine the source of lag. It may be on your end, theirs, or anywhere in between.

Yeah I've had lag today... I disconnected 3 times so far, 2 of those I was AFK and came back to a err7; the last time I was solo-farming in ToPK and I lagged out. Had a guildie who also had lagging issues and disconnects.

EDIT: Kinda misread. Happens sometimes with internet connections and such, sometimes it's the different routes GW takes to connect to the main server and such; try running -diag command and check if it stops anywhere.

No, it wasn't just 1 person by the way.

It was infact our entire group. (We were doing Urgoz).

Twice in a row.

If you have the norton suite it prob has a firewall in it. I would suggest going to your control panel in windows and shutting off the windows firewall. I believe its on by default and has caused many of my friends this same issue.

I'm from Israel as well, not noticing any troubles atm, try scanning for spy ware?
P.S some GW servers are US therefore you will have 2x(or more) ping than other servers which usually located at Europe servers.

I had lag BADLY for a week or so did a defrag and updated my Video Drivers and the problem went away, UNTIL yesterdays Update.. I was playing yesterday and everything was GREAt.. no lag whatsoever.. Ever since they updated it and i left and came back.. the lag is Back and its BAD!! I had been playing for about 3 hours yesterday perfectly no lag al all. Closed GW to get the new build update like it said and it hasnt played right since. I have defragged again and even checked my vid drivers again.. nothing is helping. I am not saying it was the update but i KNOW how well it was working prior to the update and how lousy it has been since for me.
