Say I have a monk hero with [mend condition] and a mesmer hero with [smite condition] and no other condition removal in the party. Will my mesmer hero be smart enough to prioritize [smite condition] to my monk hero? (since [mend condition] will cover the whole party except for the monk hero) Or will my mesmer be dumb and just use [smite condition] on whoever has a condition and not realize that my monk's got it all covered and the only point of [smite condition] is to remove conditions from the monk. Thanks in advance.

Yep, heroes don't understand prioritization. For instance, if you take a hero with ANY condition removal spell, they will use it on ANY character with ANY condition. That W/R with absolutely no spells will get Dazed removed. That E/Me with no physical attacks will get Blind removed. The W/N with Plague TOuch will waste energy using Plague Touch to remove a condition the hero already removed.

So the fact that my monk is carrying [mend condition] will have absolutely no effect on my mesmer's choice of target for condition removal?

Nope, the only things that effects what a hero does regarding condition removal are:

1) does the hero have enough energy
2) can the hero target the character with a condition (Vow of Silence)
3) is the target in range

It won't matter what the condition is, who it is on, or what other characters can remove it. Its a first come, first serve situation. Whoever casts first gets the job done, and all that can do it will try.

In order to truely experience the AI of your heroes, try [inferno] on any ele hero.

Discovered this with Zhed. Had it on his bar and i kept wondering why the *&%$ he kept running back and forth from melee.

Things is, he 'll try to cast it, run into melee, THEn realize he's a backliner and come back in the back line. (again and again and again and again and again and again....)

try it its fun to watch.

Try it on a Warrior then, Miska! Then it'd work!

But anyway, the questions been answered, and just try things that make no sense, like Miska!
