Money Secret to Troll Farming?
Darkicon
I have a build that I've used for a couple years now for troll farming, it's the classic Prophecies-Only skills build. I'm mostly always successful in the farming besides the rare unlucky Disrupting Chop interrupting Bonetti's Defense. But how do people get so much money from troll farming?
Is it constant farming for a few hours? Salvaging mats and crafting rare mats? Just vendoring drops?
I know I can just power level people for a good bit of money, but I prefer solo play.

Not an answer to your question, but since when can D-Chop interrupt stances?
Pesi
first of all, bonettis defence cannot be interupted, its a stance (they activates instantly)
two years ago when i was farming the trolls, most money came from the loot.
but now the loot-scaling, and the farm code ruins most solo farming.
and black dyes and golds seem to drop less often.

People still farm trolls?

Troll farming made money a couple of years ago. Right now I would say it makes very little money.

It made money back when prophecies was the only campaign, now it's mostly junk o.O;.
But overall, salvaging most things and selling golds/purps/blues (Till you have a stack of each mat) is overall most useful, cause you wont have to buy mats for armour.

The only reason I ever Troll farm is to counter the anti farm effect that you get when farming in a single area too often. I leave my fav farming spot and go farm the Trolls or Minotaurs in Anvil Rock for a bit. Btw, I've yet to get a single gold in Anvil Rock - but I get a lot more Lock Picks there than other areas. Anyone else notice this?

^ there is a tripple pick drop event right now
Teutonic Paladin
Stances can be interupted, you can find a few pictures of it happening in old troll farming guides. Trolls haven't had a very good drop rate for about 18 months, sorry. They might still be the best group of warriors to solo (in proph) but you'll probably make more cash just playing HM.

I know - I thought before I posted, that I should mention that the increased Lock Pick drops were noticed before the event - lesson learned.

Team Spirit
first thing, they made money from loot items, second dont forget some "highly salvageable" from raven staffs, from woods they turned it into rolls of parchment, which in demand at that period of time. But that was back in the day tho.

1. The anti farm code does not exists.
2. Trolls have never been really profitable (like raptors, fow hm, uw etc)

They were. How? Powerlevel lul. They were easy to kill as either 55 or Spirit Bonder. Ah, farming them with level 12 monk... Good old times.

you people keep talking about farming hm instead of trolls, you do know that you can farm trolls in hm...
but yeah, trolls arent that great now, like any other farming area. hardcore farmers stick to elite areas/raptors nowadays...

Troll Farming is talking about the cave of trolls just outside Droks, not the farming of trolls in general.

There is another form of troll farming, but for that you have to be a mod here on guru.

Well, sort of. Anyone can agro all the trolls with a good thread, but only a mod can spike them with the banhammer.

actualy, you're both wrong. Trolls used to be the steadiest and most profitable farm run that noobs and bots alike could farm (after griffons were nerfed and dyining nightmares added to UW). It was short, repetitive, and required little thought, but proveded lots of merch quality drops at a consistent rate that added up very quickly.
what killed the farm was loot scaling and the advent of HM, which defeated the entire purpose of the build an opened an entirely new door for alternatives.
