Hey Guys

Am I just the only one which thinks that the rings which decide whether Grenth or Dwayna wins is boring?

What my idea is that instead of these, throughout the holiday season a modified AB arena is made (still have normal AB of course). So after every win and lose you gain a large or small respectivly, of Dwayna or Grenth Faction as well as Balthazar faction.

Over the whole season which ever God has the most overall faction donated, wins?

I like the idea (and love your avatar), but would a specific side winning determine the hat given? Or would there only be one hat regardless and it would be given no matter who wins, if so there isn't much point in the faction. I wasn't here for the first Wintersday, and didn't have time to play much during the second, but if I recall correctly there was a mini-game snowball fight during the second. Would your PvP idea be like that or something different?

Isn't the winter's day in bout 8 months or something? Just wondering, because I want winter's day as soon as possible. :P

I will support that under three conditions:

1. Snowball skills.
2. Choose your side.
3. Gamer points.

If containing all of the above, I'm all for it. Otherwise, I'll still be in the classic Snowball Arena.

How about have the wintersday quests like factions quests, Dwayna & Grenth quests have X faction each and which ever side donates more wins.

I love the idea of 2 new faction sets. I would love to see a title for each *can only get one of them perhaps?* but that is unimportant. I support your idea, but I say that the snowball arena may be enough of whats needed.

My idea, which is simpler(I think). Allow you to choose which side you want to be for Snowball arena, and you get the faction there. How to choose would be, when you talk to the Snowball Arena NPC is LA or whatever town, you say Grenth's side or Dwayna's side.

But I /sign for either.

What I was thinking was that a hat would be given to either side no matter who won over all, but for the winning side they would get a hat + another item and the loser would just get the hat maybe?

The setup of the game would be exactly the same as AB, 12vs12 capping and killing, first to 500 etc you know the rules.

Yes there has always been the snowball fight but that is just gathing presents etc, this is capping and killing.

Yes and know, you would be able to chose your side, just like choosing Luxon or Kurzick but you would not be bound like you are in an allience and I think gamer points would also be awarded, obviously more to the winner and less to the loser, balthazar faction would also be awarded like in AB. About the snowball skills, i'm not sure, i think that there would have to be more than just 1 set of skills, 1 for each profession........the halloween arean springs to mind, were each profession got a set of skills, this would make the game more fun and diverse over all I think.

Possibly they could follow the same sort of thing as the allience titles, but maybe cap at a much lower amount of faction as wintersday only comes once a year and it would take many years to get 10mil of faction or you could just get more for a win and loss, either way is fine really.

Nice idea, I think it would be fun, and it'd be better than standing around in rings for a while. But then they'd need something to work on the un/lucky and gamer tracks too.

I say keep the rings, keep the snowball*add the ability to choose which side you want*, add this GvD arena, add a Dwayna Title and Grenth Title.

The Dwayna Title and Grenth Title will have same rank names as the Kurz/Lux titles, for simplicity. Get points from donating Grenth/Dwayna faction.

Point system:
Quests: 20 points per quest.
Rings: 20 points for win.
Snowball: 50 points for win, 5 points for kill, 20 points for scoring.
Dwayna vs Grenth Arena: 50 points for win, 5 points for kill, 10 points for capping a shrine.
Wintersday: 1000 points for your god winning(Must have rank 1).

Titles would be mutually exclusive. You can only gain points in each title as long as you have no ranks. Once you reach rank one of one of the two titles, the faction bar for the other will disappear. As long as you have rank 1 before the end of the event, as long as your side wins, you get rank 3. It should be impossible to know which side is winning in terms of donated faction.

Feel free to add suggestions for any of the stuff I put up.

Edit: changed the points per kill from 10 to 5, I would have reduced to 1, but putting into consideration how little time there is to work on these titles, I cannot see them being maxed easily even with 10 per kill, and it would take years to max with 9 less points per kill, as that may end up being one of the major point sources, as it happens the most often.

Yeah i like you ideas a lot mate only thing i can think to change is that in the GvD thing only 1 point is awarded per kill cos if u think how many kills there are in AB atm you would gain r12 very fast. But hopfull som1 form anet will read this and love it ^^ i can't see any other flaws or reasons they wouldnt do this now.

The idea for an AB style holiday arena is awesome, but I really don't think we need any more titles.

maybe we dnt need more titles but the way that the holiday is turned on people actually doing somthing than standing around is much better imho lol

The title are unneeded overall, but would help motivate many people into doing the events. This and "Ritball" should both be added to the game. Maybe anet can remove the title after Wintersday as a joke, I'd love to see all the QQing then.

lol that would be funny, people stay on 24 hous a day to get r12 and then after event is over they take the title away xD how amny rage quitters would there be

I say bring a form similar to Costume Brawl for every event... Or make it permanent. It's one of the great PvP ideas out there. Fixed builds. Best way to balance things out. And lots of fun.

The post was good until I read that last bit. If they're mutually exclusive, I would just force them to become one title, and just about everything you have listed already awards points to some other title, so the whole track really doesn't serve any purpose except to be another title. New title + no purpose = bad.

If that was to still go through anyway, you either need to tone down the point values on everything or boost how many you need per rank. I know that I get ~7k Gamer points every Wintersday in Snowball, and that's ~35k G/D points, not including kills and scores, which would more than likely bring me above Rank 10.

And not that you've suggested it, but I hope that nobody comes along and makes the stupid remark that higher title here = better Snowball skills.

Well you know as the title increases the power of the snowball skills could increase

but anyway, how likely is it that anet will actually impliment somthing like this into wintersday 2008?

How likely is it Anet will actually take anything from Sardelac at all? I'm sure a few employees have looked through it from time to time, but I doubt they would anymore. I've only been here a month and I know that 95% of the ideas that get posted here are crap. I hope I'm wrong in this, as I would love to see this in the game.
