I was making funny cartoon and then I realize there's only one skills that are non-profession specific, (res-sig :P~, okay maybe cap sig too) there are probably more, but well if you see them, tell me, I'm all ears.

anyway. here goes.

I was thinking there should be more skills that are non-profession related, like throw dirt, it is now a ranger specific skill. If you think about it, which profession cannot throw dirt effectively? (but this is not just about throwing dirt, that was an example and what trigger me to think)

everyone knows how to throw dirts right, you don't need to be ranger to know how to blind an enemy with throw dirt.

what do you think of adding more non-profession specific skills to the game.

For instant a non-profession related run faster skill, I know there already are many running skill, but this is an example of non-profession related skills, because well basically all "heros" should be able to run fast without using "skill", why? cos we are Heros! , non-profession related higher dexterity skill, something that causes you to react faster to things in a combat.

discuss politely, thank you.

I believe that is what the EotN rep skills are for.

I think its better without skills that can be used by any class

when forming a party, its nice to have specific skills that make you "needed", or a great asset to the party.

with skills that can be used by just anyone, some of them will be too useful and expected to be carried by everyone. the more popular ones will get overused leading to simple repetition leading to boredom imo.

I think that the OP is talking about non PvE skills.

My thoughts: Throw dirt (for example) should be available to any martial fighter (not casters) because they are more likely to get into the rough and tumble of a fight.

True proffesion/rank independent skills would be a nice addition (insert GW2 taking all dev time - wait...zrank, skill split etc NVM)

Well, for ALL professions, I disagree, but there are some skills that can become like "Caster-only" and "Attacker-only." Throw Dirt would be a skill that would fit as an Attacker only skill, as GaaaaaH said. And the reason why you shouldn't say "PvE-only skills" is because Heroes cannot use them, that simple. I doubt such a thing will be implemented, but its possible and would be nice to see.

Some Core profession skills can easily be made to Caster/Attacker skills, which would even make the amount of skills per profession closer together then they currently are.

Professions aren't meant to have equal skills, and if thats what he means between caster/attacker then just /notsigned. There's no reason to lessen the diversity of professions, as it is the one thing that makes Guild Wars stand out.

No attribute skills are essentially what you want, but with a small restriction of having the appropriate class/secondary. Quite a few are used heavily, PvE and PvP, and quite a few are elites.

[Gaze of Contempt][Grenth's Balance][Wild Blow]["For Great Justice!"][Antidote Signet][Storm's Embrace][Holy Veil][Purge Conditions][Arcane Echo][Epidemic][Glyph of Elemental Power][Glyph of Concentration][Dash][Swap][Remedy Signet][rending touch]

See, all of those can be used by any class, and that isn't all in the possibles, just the ones I thought of quickly. True, a N/Me can use Arcane Echo, but not Glyph of Concentration, but that is because of balance. Giving skills to ALL classes means you open the door for imbalanced builds.

arent there already imbalanced builds?

i think that the topic is about skeills that can be used regardless of profession.

I think the title based skills are just that, non-profession based skills. It's also better then having skills like Rez sig because with title skills you can power them up every time you gain a rank. Personally, I like having the opportunity to increase a skill's effectiveness rather then stick to a skill that will stay the same for good. So, the already made idea of title based skills is good enough as non-profession skills. In my opinion, anyway.

You already have them in pve skills, and there are plenty of normal skills which you can think of as non specific (plenty of classes just go /mo, /rt, /p for resses for example). And you could almost say that GoLE as non specific for most casters. So not sure what sort of skills you'd introduce.

Anyone can thrwo dirt, but only someone favored by Melandru can blind with that 100% of the time.

Although I agree there could be more unlinked common skills like the Signet of Capture and the Resurrection signt, I think they should be PvE.
