Which method of using Zkeys is the most profitable? Selling for 4.5-5k at gtob or Actually opening the zaishen chest? What are some of the drops that you can get that make it worth 5k?

There's no telling because opening the chest is based 100% on luck. You could get a crystalline, you could get a flask of firewater. It's all chance. I've opened it hundreds of times, and would have said with my luck i would've made MUCH more profit by selling the keys.

Alright got it I think im going to try to open it like a few times then if i get some epic blade ill stop opening. But i know it will be a chronic urge to keep opening the chest if i do get somehting good lol. Ill just open it like 2-3 times get my firewater and work on my drunkard title ha.

Selling them is much better than using them. It's basically playing the lottery, and everyone knows who truly wins in that...

Selling them by far. You can get about 50k a month. It's great!

My husband used about 1000 keys recently.... and has about 300 ecto to show for it. So it's really not a profitable way to make money..

I actualy made a huge profit by opening the chest
I had opened it around 600times when theywere worth 2-3k and about 70 at 5k
In one drop I got more than all those keys combine ( everlasting transfiger tonic) and still got about 100 cremes and firewaters each +250 to my wisdom title and quite a few rare skins like celstial compass gloom shield etc
For it was far more profitable but may not b in most cases

I've made about 1mill selling keys and used about 1.5mill worth of keys. By far selling them would be more profitable.

I opened the chest 250 times, the best I got was a q11 command amethyst aegis, since the title was introduced I have been selling all my keys and have made a lot more gold...

some people are incredibly lucky and get a super rare drop with only a few keys, some use...a lot...and end up being far worse off than if they had sold the keys. for me i would have made quite a bit selling all the zkeys but i always use them, no fun/excitement for me in just selling. generally speaking i would say selling is definately more profitable than using, especially with a lot of prices on rares falling.

heres a tip, when opening a zaishen chest and u have 1 key dont bother ull need around 50 to get anything good, i had around 60 keys and got about 4 good items rest were crappy golds and sweets

Sell them.
I've opened the chest maybe 100 times (all before the title!) and only got 1 or 2 weapons that were even hero-worthy. The nicest I got was an inscribable req. 9 Celestial Sword.
Of course, you could hit the lottery on your first key, but you're probably better off selling them and just buying whatever you want!

I haven't used my bunch yet, and everyone keeps telling me to sell them and buy lockpicks if I really want to open stuff, but I'm really very tempted to gamble for fun.

Back then when they were 2.5k-3k, people were screaming that its much much much more profitable to sell the keys than to hope for good drops. Now they are 5k each, so...

Overall, the Zaishen Chest is like any chest, most of what you get out of it is crap. If you only open a few chests it's likely you'll be disappointed, but if you open enough of them, and are prepared to spend some time selling the stuff, you can make a profit and/or get some good stuff for your self. (And that applies to any high-end chest, especially in HM)
I used to buy a lot of Z-keys back when I could get them for 2.5k each. A got enough good stuff to make it worthwhile (best was a req9 Magmas Shield).
Now that they go for 5k or so, I don't bother any more. True, you may be able to get an Everlasting Tonic, sell it for lots of gold and still make a profit, but those things are such stupid worthless bits of kiddie crap, I can't be bothered with them (and I'm sure the fad would blow over by the time I got one
