How many of ya'll are Guild Wars retires who still need some type of fix? I know that I'm done playing until the night before GW2 is released, but I can't seem to quite give it up completely. I know there are a fair amount of us out there. So stand up and identify yourself.

Ever since ANet started royally screwing themselves by handing out unfair and unjust bans at their own free nonsensical will, i can't really bring myself back to play anymore. Meh, i might have an interest in GW2 if whoever the schmucks are over at ANet deciding to create this chaos decide to clean their act up.

Requiem:Bloodymare is in open beta, i'll be downloading that soon.
Might check out Age of Conan just for the hell of it...

But all this bullshit by anet was the final blow to Guild Wars. RIP.

There are no retired players that still post on this forum. Those that say they have and still post here are just deluding themselves. You've bought the games and still take interest in what's going on in the game - yet you say you're retired? I say they're just on an extended leave of the game. An actually retired GW player would have moved on and would no longer have an interest in the game - therefore not reading Guild Wars Guru.

I would disagree. Someone who retires in the traditional sense is someone who no longer works full time. It says nothing about completely giving up interest in the company you just worked at for 30 years.

I would consider myself "retired". I log in every now and then, and I might even try and get some fame this weekend, but the main point is that I have moved on from the game. I still care about it because I invested 1300+ hours in it, and I want to see others continue to enjoy it as much as I know I have.

Same as Cale.

Everything I think about doing something new, I generally log out instead.

I wouldn't consider myself retired, but I'm close to it.

Bull, retired means you have quit or stopped doing whatever it is you've "retired" from.

I retired my position at Burger King means - you no longer work there. I retired my position within my company means - you no longer fill the position which you had filled previously. Retired = quit - if you keep logging in every so often or keep reading the forums and taking part in ANYTHING Guildwars after purchasing the games - then you haven't retired.

If you are retired, you will not read this thread.

I put the game on the self over spring semester but I'm ready to start playing again. I just reloaded gw tonight and am waiting for the time to get back to play. I am only a level 11 so I can't say I retired just took a slight break.

In this thread, a poster learns that Guild Wars and Guild Wars Guru are not the same thing and can be accessed independently.

You are taking a very hard-line approach to the whole "retired" business. To retire does not mean to sever all contact, it is to simply stop doing something full time.

For a long time Guild Wars was my full time game. It is no longer, hence, I have retired from my Guild Wars days. Simply because I make an appearance every now and again and +1 on the forums does not mean that I have "not retired". It means I still care about a game that I loved (and still do) for so long.

I'd consider myself one of those players. I might sign on one time a week out of boredum, ask around if theres anything to do, and end up signing off 10 minutes later.

I guess i kinda stick around waiting to see if something big changes, or if theres some weekend event that i might be intrested in. But other than that i guess just waiting around for gw2...

i retired from guild wars due to getting 2 accounts banned. I bought a 3rd but its highest char is about lvl 16, i just cant play the game anymore, after 5000+ hrs logged in the game, over 2000 on my monk, its too hard to play again after loosing all that work. i learned from my mistakes an ive turned to Hellgate: London, Halo 3, and im going to give the Bloodmare beta a try until GW2 beta starts.

Then im going to basically give my life over to GW2 cuz its going to be the SH*T

I've stopped playing mostly and moved on to wow. Only logging in to chat with old friends who are still playing. I also care about the game which is why I occasionally read Guru and post.

i alredy quit GW once in the past around december, and came back in september. that was a nice break, but i would still log in once in a while to chat or do a farm or two with friends, but i wouldnt stay on over 1 hour.

then i kind of came back, since i gave my boyfriend my mule account and was playing with him; mostly guiding, explaining helping etc. then i got into it again, but not nearly like i was into it 2-3 years ago.

now i am probably considered a retired player, i hardly play anymore since: work + house work + real life = not much time.

to be fair i was getting really bored with GW again, and would log in just to play with my guy once in a while, or just to kill time. i dont really miss playing GW, but i still like it once in a while. this is how i got r10 norn, just cuz it was osmething to do and i had an hour per day to kill. ever since i got r10 norn i used ursan once, thats it lol. rest of time i was doing RA, GWEN NM quests on my still new necro and chating

i will defenetly not going to ever play it like i used to, i mean really play. Love it, get pissed off at it, fail and try again, set goals for myself etc. but i still like to come back into this pretty game once in a while to make my ele shake her retired butt in the GH

My father is retired (earlier retirement so he gets more money ;d). But he sometimes go to his old work to say hi to friends and ex-co-workers. I think he isn't deluding himself.

I take interest in the game to see if it's worth to come back. Right now, it's not. But nobody says I can't come back.

Retired, I log on every so often (every few weeks) to see how old friends are doing, and to see if my account is still there (afterall I did dish out ~$200 for Anet's games... err, access to their servers, my bad.). I've moved on to xbox live when I get time to play, not as much free time when you have a job though.

GW = Facebook with 3D Avatars

While I do still do the odd mission its mostly just with a guildie or two to build up our titles for HoM and GW2.

After 3years we've done it all and you can only repeat so much so often without really despizing it.

No, it means you're going die of heart failure, like everyone else who eats are Burger King.

Me, I retired from PvE, just no challenge to it anymore, and filled with lame people who think their good. PvP, still worth playing, I do enjoy killing other players over monsters.

I am retired. It's not too hard to lose interest in the game once you feel like you have done pretty much all you wanted to do. Of course sometimes you feel like you'd give it one more try, but that's when you are bored. Reading a book or watching a good movie fixes that.

I still browse Guru from time to time.
