The fire isn't animated, and the smoke looks a bit odd. I'm not sure if it's some graphical update or something to do with my video card. I recently installed a new one, an EN8500GT Asus card, and everything looks incredibly nice. I was just wondering why I've had this problem with fire and such. It's not a big problem, just slightly irritating that my fire isn't moving...Is there anything I can do to solve it?

Is it always like that, or just sometimes?

Because sometimes, that happens to everybody....

I had the same problem. I went into the graphics options in Guild Wars and found that post processing wasn't checked. After I checked it it worked fine.

Sometimes when the Guild Wars client is open for a few hours, animations such as:

*Waterfalls

*Fire

*Weapons

Etc will stop functioning, and you have to restart the client to make them function again.

If restarting the client doesn't fix it, then it may be a driver issue, try rolling back to older drivers. If that doesn't fix it, then the gw.dat file may be corrupted, go to the Guild Wars directory, delete the .dat file, and re-download it.

That about covers it. In my experence the Fire animation is normally the first to go, then waterfalls and weapons. You may want to go to a town with a nice roaring fire then exit the game. When you relaunch GW check the fire, if sm3 is not working the fire will not be animated. Uninstall your video driver the clean up the driver files and reinstall the latest stable driver.
