Mesmer Hero Hex Breaker Problem
Sir Tidus
I have recently noticed that my mesmer hero (Gwen) doesn't use [hex breaker] in combat very often. Outside of combat, she'll reactivate it as soon as it expires. But in combat, when [hex breaker] stops a hex and goes away, Gwen often wouldn't activate it again even though it's recharged. And so she ends up getting hexed even though she could have stopped it instantaneously. Oh, and it's not because of energy, because my Gwen's energy almost never drops below half (20). She doesn't have any other stances equiped either? Anyone else ever had this problem? Is it just my bad luck? Thanks in advance for any input.

is she in another stance? that'd prevent her, much like Glyph of Elemental Power usually locks out heroes from using GoLE :P
Pesi
[skills]hex breaker[/skill] aint no longer a stance : )))
Rampager
descriptions are outdated its a stance again

The AI probably recognizes that she's in combat and therefore places priority on spells cast directly onto enemy targets. I've believe that if Hex breaker was an energy recovery or damage mitigation spell, she probably would cast it on herself in combat, but since it's "indirect damage when cast on self" it's placed as a lower priority that an spell to do direct damage to an enemy.
If I can, I'll test this out and get back to you.
I was intrigued. Took my healer and Gwen into the Isle of the Nameless and had her solo the Master of Hexes. She kept Hex Breaker up in Attack and Guard modes, so my original theory is debunked. Got to be something else in your build that she wants to cast instead of HB.

As for having something else she wants to cast, she often doesn't cast anything after using [cry of frustration], [power drain], and [Castigation Signet]; she'll just stand there and use her staff to attack monsters.
