Yup, your OS or any program will never stores files in the temp folder they're going to need for a long time. The temp folder is mostly used to extract temporary files required to install a program when the installation is completed most programs will clean up after themselves and remove these temporary files, but there are sloppy programs which do not. There is no risk in deleting content in the temp folder unless it's content you yourself placed there.

Heh, I've known people store files in the recycle bin.

"Nobody would think of looking in there."

Have Spy Bot run at startup before the boot process can run anything. NOD32 or AVG Free 8.0 should be able to handle anti viral for you (the new AVG 8.0 Free is amazing I have found. It has better heuristics then NOD32, and it is more streamlined. NOD32 is almost too aggressive for its own good.

Spy Bot S&D, AVG Free 8.0, CCleaner = perfect trio. End game for worms, adware, malware, and virii alike.

One word for you... Wrong.

Saying linux doesn't have viruses is like saying unprotected sex works if the girl lives healthy.

where did i say linux doesn't have viruses? yes there are linux viruses. very very few though compared to 'dows.. and you'd be an idiot if you did get one in linux. i've been using linux for 5 years, i have yet to come across one.

edit: and to your analogy, if the girl is healthy then yes, unprotected sex is safe. not saying i'd take that chance though.
