Which port city do you use?
Shayne Hawke
On my recent completion of the Vanquisher and Cartographer titles for Elona, I let off a big sigh of relief and said to myself, "I'm glad that I'll never have to step foot in Elona again!" Kamadan, however, seems to be the most popular port city for people to be selling stuff in. Lion's Arch has its appeal for being on the same map as EotN, and Kaineng is...there.
But all three of them are still pretty busy. I was curious who goes where to do their business and why they chose that place.
The reason I ruled out any EotN cities is because I don't think any of them have risen to such importance as any of the port cities. If someone thinks I'm off on that, I'd like to hear about it.

LA is always m first stop, if I don't get any luck I head to Kamadan. I hate Elona.

I mostly use KC when i map out of GH with a full party of 8 and want to go in Proph, EoTN or Faction. Kamadan, always need to regroup in some 8 man party city, so getting in NF should reward you with frequent flyer reward points.
pamelf
Kamadan to sell, LA because it's the easiest port to EOTN as you said...Kaineng for me really is just...there....
lilraceangel3
Ive noticed that kamadan is the new hot place to sell...like LA in its heyday. I always try spamadan first then LA.
natural_Causes
I try to sell in LA (when I try to sell ) and if I can't there, I go to Spamadon and normally can sell there.
Snograt
Yup, it's called Spamadan for good reason ^^
Sigh - I remember when Drok's used to be the place

I go everywhere when I am buying or selling. All the major cities and some of the towns, Every english speaking district too.
Jetdoc
Kamadan if I have something quick to sell.
Otherwise, I normally log into my guild hall, then Kaineng as it has a pretty good materials crafter there.

Lion's Arch = Loser's Arch
Kamadan = Scamadan
Kaineng = Con-ing
Anyway i usually go to LA to sell minipets, materials, dyes and any unidentified gold items i have. It seems to be the place to buy the old school items aswell, storm bows, chaos axes, fellblades and low end minipets.
Scamadan is the place to sell or buy the high end and somewhat new items in the game. Things like silverwing bows, voltaic spears, tormented and destroyer weapons seem to be sold here a lot. Not to mention the new 3rd year minis.
Con-ing is where i go to buy tomes for below average price. I always find someone there is selling tomes in bulk for lots of classes which is handy if you feel like being lazy about the skill hunter titles lol.
An honourable mention is Doomlore Shrine in EOTN which is the best place to get lockpicks. I've noticed a huge increase in the number of people selling lockpicks and other random stuff like unided golds.

Kamadan for the most part. Kaineng is boring, and LA is dead.

Also to Adja, I can almost always get mass amounts of picks either in Kaineng (discount merchants FTW) or Umbral Grotto due to the Snowman runs.

I don't think I've ever even attempted to sel anything in Kaineng. Kamadan always has buyers for everything, so for me, its the easiest.
Quaker
I really wish they would put access to Eye Of the North (outpost) on the boat.
Thizzle
I go to Lion's Arch first then Kamadan or Kaineng. In Eye of The North you may want to visit for selling certain types of items or weapons. I go to Central Fusion Chamber, Gunnar's Hold, Doomlore Shrine to sell certain collector items. I visit Eye Of The North because it's pretty populated. My favorite place is Maguuma Stade though.

Spamadan
Lots more people there

you do realize that you can use the asura gate and get to boreal and bi-pass LA etc completely right????
and to answer the posters question--none they all equally stink.

I like to use kamadan as there is the most action there.
if no luck, to la i go.
if i wanna sell faction prof. tomes like rit or sin... or monk (some ppl farm) then i go to factions port.

Ill use Kamadan first, Lion's Arch 2nd, Kaineng.... only if necessary.
I like that Kamadan has the most people + all the traders are like in the same spots. Lion's arch isn't too bad for that either but man Kaineng always feels like I'm lost trying to find the one guy I need.

Kamadan because it seems to be the most populated; Lion's Arch afterwards since there are still a fair amount of people there. I rarely stop by Kaineng; it's essentially dead.

The best thing about the GWEN portal is that when I want to jump to C1 - I don't need to jump to LA any longer.
Molock
Always Kamadan.. but if I have no luck there I will stop by LA. Kamadan just seems to be the best place to buy and sell items.
ahem.
Kamadan when I'm selling things, otherwise it's LA.
Diddy bow
Kama for selling my worthless drops, most peeps
Kaining to use the merch etc, best looking city
And occisionally lions cus i can get to EOTN from there.

I have always preferred Lions Arch.
I much prefer the scenery, and I have better knowledge of whereabouts of everything there. Kamadan would come up second, if LA didn't take my merchants interest. Kaineng I usually try to avoid, It's so dirty :O

StormDragonZ
Green items that I try to sell go to their respected "game" depending on class:
Lion's Arch for Core classes.
Kamadan for Paragon and Dervish.
Kaineng Center for Assassin and Ritualist.
If no luck through this method, the places I visit, in order:
Kamadan
Lion's Arch
Kaineng Center
Shing Jea Monastery
Ascalon City
Droknar's Forge
I'll then retry the top three again in reverse order and if still no luck, I just try again tomorrow or whenever I'm not busy.

Shadowmere
i'm not much into trading so I usually avoid Spamadan, too crowded wich can play hell with my loading tmes, not to mention the party size is four and all the merchants and traders are so spread out you have to run all the way across town repeatedly if I'm fiddling with excess materials.
Since I don't usually care to sell stuff I prefer Kaineng for most things, it has all essential traders and they're all located fairly close together, the party size is eight and there are several max armor crafters there as well.

Red Sand
Lion's Arc first, but because it's a habit. Kamadan second, because trading in Kaineng seem's like a waste of time.
JeniM
I never have anything worth selling to players so I use Kamadam as all the NPC's are there and closer than anyother capital
garethporlest18
Kamadan. I also use Shing Jea as my chatroom for the 95% of the time I'm on the game.
Cale Roughstar
I usually swap between Kamadan and LA for buying/selling, though it is probably a 75/25 split, with Kamadan as as the clear leader. As for a chatroom, guild chat and whispers are about as social I get.
Operative 14
For trading, I always start in LA, move to Kamadan, then to KC. I havn't noticed any advantage in selling in an particular place, though Kamadan is the most populated. If something is going to get sold, it wil usually sell faster there. LA seems to have more Low end and High end buyers, Kamadan seems to have the most middle of the road traders.
For hanging out I like the middle districts of LA and Kamadan. Though I consider LA more of a home than Kamadan.

I wish that the trade chat for the Towns was the same like in WoW so it wouldnt matter where you were. As for me, I go to LA out of habit. Droks is dead which is unfortunate, I miss trading there.
thetechx
depends on which campaign im in when i decide to sell stuff.
if im in proph or EotN, i go to L.A.
factions=keineng
nightfall=kamadan

Kamadan = When I want to buy/sell specific stuff/weapons, and general purpose as it is where I chestrun (well the continent) (I still have RoT quests to finish) (and seriously I can never find Kodash/Sanctuary).
LA = I don't do any trading there anymore but go often. More of a tradition.
KC = Dead and sucks. Welcome to Cantha. Only purpose are the 3k experience quests.
Droks = Even Ascalon has more people, but someties I head there for material sellers.
What is really annoying is that in none of this cities the traders are right next to Xunlai chests.
