Sway stands for Spirit way. It is a team of 2 N/Rt healers, 1 Expel Rit, 2 Trappers, and 3 R/D Scythe rangers. Some positions can change, such as Nukers for Trappers and such. The trappers, Rit and N/rits carry spirits that fuel the Necro's Soul Reaping on death. It is designed to quickly overpower the other team for easy fame. It is the easiest team to set up and takes close to no skill, so it is a staple of new HA players.

For each point of Soul Reaping, you gain 1 Energy whenever a non-Spirit creature near you dies.

Before Sway was "spirit way" loads of spirit spammin Rt's.
Now its most known as "Schyte way" a shit load of R/D's running around in HA farming fame without tactics. With useally a snare RT, and N healers.
Some play this gimmick build in GvG aswell but not as successful, Any team with tactics should be able to win vs this.

Apart from balanced teams the majority of HA is whatever cookiecutter garners the most fame at that particular time, sway is effective hence it is now called lame, noob, shitway etc... doesn't change the fact that it works and even rolls ranked teams at times
ppl bomb on it because anyone can play it, which upsets the elitism of HA, frankly I find that funny.

Im still amused that "Will Avenge You" is what the WAY in IWAY was, WAY doesnt even belong in the name of these builds
so actually i guess it stands for...
S pirit W ill A venge Y ou

Player 1 wants to learn to play and have fun at HA running real builds, but is quite inexperienced.
Player 2 wants lots and lots of fame for some flashy emote so he can /rank to take the piss out of whoever, making the Hero title more of a laughing stock than it ever was.
Player 1 can't get better, because he can't beat Sway and resorts to Sway, so he's in the same category as Player 2. Either that, or he just quits HA.
Some people manage to get to play decent builds, some don't.
The thing is, Sway is a brainless buttonmashing build that can beat mediocre players with nought skill required. It further degenerates HA, and not only because of it's skill level, it gets a bad name aswell as being some crappy cookie-cutter.
It's already doomed to farmers anyway.

90% of the ppl that play in HA do so for RANK and fame, so ppl can look at them and go OMGz R<insert rank here> how leet, then proceed to bambi them until they emote their wolf/tiger/phoenix etc...
the remaining 10% are hardcore PvP who know the game inside out so don't use sway as they can roll it with their balanced builds (which if you look at them are all similar anyway with the exception of SoG who got nerf out of existence and are now playing the balanced build)

Friends list and guildies and work your way up.
Or resort to it and when you get to a decent rank quit it and play real, decent builds.

imo It's honestly fine to run if you're new and inexperienced. You don't just walk into HA and expect a group to take you.....with Sway though, you get a group within minutes. If you have no rank and don't wanna run Sway, the other option is hoping your friends have friends that are willing to let you join a team. For a casual pve'er though, it's not always easy. Another option is joining a PvP guild that accepts unranked/lower ranked players.
Get in a few Sway groups, rank up, but don't be lazy - learn the basics of HA while you're at it. Try to improve your skill. Don't expect the rest of the team to do the work for you otherwise you'll learn nothing and you'll just be another r3 that knows nothing. Still though, there is a few r3's out there that you'd think are alot higher ranked.
