Tanned square hides

where are there alot of grawl longspear mobs in the ascalon thats not blown up.... ive been hunting in green hills and get like 6 hides a run and i kill EVERY LAST grawl there.......
any tips?

no idea actually, Im lvl 20 now and I havent even found a single one nor seen anyone who did find them

That's because the game is NOT based on camping a spawn or some crap like that for items (or even xp). I really think the DEVs wanted people to actually play the game, not camp a spawn for hours looking for items. *shrugs* just a guess. You can do it, but they did not make it easy... which is a good thing.

Would it not be easier to find the merchant upgrader that can convert these for you from common items? Maybe thats what they had in mind?

There are two ways to get rares outside of trading.

1. You kill a mob that drops something and you use an EXPERT salvage kit to get it. Sometimes you'll get one with a regular kit, but the percentages are far too low.

* You don't spawn camp. You can run through the map, kill all the longspears, jump to town, then back out again. Nothing "spawns" per se.

2. EASIER: You can find crafters littered all over the place that will convert regular items into rare crafting materials.

Stop taking npcs if you are taking henchmen, they tend to be item hogs
