Errh...Tomes?

I'm not sure if this belongs here but do tomes/elite tomes give you a random skill of that profession or do you get to choose? ie I'm a Dervish, I have Avatar of Melandru and Avatar of Balthazar unlocked, I use a derv elite tome...do I get to choose which one I get or is it randomly given to me?

Yea you get to choose any skill you previously unlocked corresponding to the type of tome.

You get to choose. But it's important to understand that you can only choose skills that are already unlocked on your account. Because of this, a tome only benefits a second character that wants to acquire a skill unlocked by the first character. (The first character unlocks it, so doesn't need the tome to acquire it, since he/she already has it!)

But yea, as already answered, you choose which skill you get when you use a tome. Elite Tomes obviously give you an elite skill you have unlocked, and regular tomes give you normal skills
