This 5 wins needed for a an unlock Heroes Ascent is complete BS. Its taking forever, Pugs don't work, and I have not been back to the game long enough to find a decent team with a vent to actually coordinate our way through this bogus.

Yes, getting 5 wins in TA is not ez as most will be guild teams, and there are even specific guilds that only TA. GL yo!

Honestly your best bet is winning 10 with a decent RA team, then winning another 5 in TA.

Good luck getting 5 TA teams in a row that isn't the same old wiki bullshit though, cause that is _all_ TA is.

TA is just 10 wins right? in a row or not. At least thats how I got HA. Also, the reason why TA is "hard" for some is to help keep "noobs" out of HA, which is what RA does for TA a lot. At least to my noticing.

I'd sort of have to agree. I've never really been much of a PvP player, so it's not been much of an issue aside from wanting to go someplace new. But I havn't tried getting to HA becuase of the issues brought up here. I've always assumed I wouldn't be able to get a PUG becuase I don't have a rank (or something like that) and even if I could, any group I could get into wouldn't be able to make much headway.

Still, not much of an effect on my gameplay.

As stated already if you're not in a guild which can you can team up with for TA your best bet is probably to get in a RA team that can go the distance. That is get 10 consecutive in RA and then 5 consecutive in TA. Its not impossible as I've managed the feat once before, definately have to be very lucky tho.

They key thing about TA is you don't need the wins to be consecutive in order to unlock HA. You can just gradually chip away at it with wins here or there and eventually you should get there.

Overall tho, HA really isn't going to be any easier than TA when you get that unlocked.

Exact same here. I didn't realize there was a requirement to enter HA. I mean, I remember not having it on my map a long time ago, but I've got both HA and TA now, and the most I've ever done on the isles is the occasional RA. Don't think I ever made 10 in a row in RA, either... I may have and just didn't remember it.

If you created your first character before the Battle Isles were introduced then you automatically had all the islands unlocked.

If you joined after they were introduced then I don't know how you have access to them without going through TA.

Yeah, I have no idea, then. I first started playing GW in late January 2006. If I'm not mistaken, that's a good month or so after the battle isles were implemented.

Maybe I just got a weird bug; or maybe I actually did play [and win] 5 TA matches, and just totally forgot. *shrug*

Buy the pvp acces thing in the store if you arent able to get it... But if you arent able to get 5 wins in TA, then why do you want to go to HA?....

5 wins in TA is not a problem at all. It is a noob-safeguard, but still a rather weak one.
But after you did it, you will start at rank 0 in HA and suffer rank discrimination.

You will probably still get into a fame farming group, but if you do not have any friends helping you, nobody playing with you on a regular basis, you will experience the "PUG" fun you had over and over.

If 5 wins in TA already prove difficult and you do not have a team, either get one or focus on PvE or simply another game.

If you can't get 5 wins in TA you're not going to do well in HA anyway

I have this feeling this is just a ridiculous trolling thread. ANYONE could achieve 5 wins in RA.
