(My searching parameters aren't all that great, so if this has been answered elsewhere, please link me to it.)

So, does the AL of your armour have any affect on your ability to pull off farming builds like the 55hp's and their brethren? I ask this simply because I'm using mid-level AL armour for my SV 55hp and was curious to see whether on not higher or lower AL would change anything.

Thanks.

If you're using a 55 build, then no, AL won't matter, unless Prot Spirit gets stripped. Since you're reducing all damage to 5 or 0 anyways via PS+Shielding Hands/SoA.

However if your build includes Spirit Bond, then you will want the lowest AL you can get.

Hmm, thanks. I do use Spirit Bond, perhaps I should drop the AL then?

If you're using a 55 build with SB as actual healing, then yes, you'll want to drop your AL to as low as possible.

I use the 7AL collectors armor from Presearing on my monk cuz I forgot to keep the starter set.

Oh I trashed my starter's ages ago (I was very green at the time), so 15 AL is the lowest I think I can get. Not too bad though, I hope >.>

Since most solo monk farming builds are in HM, 15 AL armor is usually low enough. They hit hard enough to trigger SB ^_^

Of course, I can say that since I have kept my starter set xD

There is a 55 guide somewhere in these forums. Also, I believe it is still on the wiki.
