What's the ipaddress/website to use when I do my tracerts and extended pings?

I tried www.guildwars.com but it doesn't work. Thanks!

Can't remember - but if you run GW using the -diag switch, it will run a tracert as part of the diagnosis. You'll find the server you need in the log.

You can open command prompt and type "tracert xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" and for ping "ping -t xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" xxx... is the ip address of the place you're testing. or if you're looking for more information about a site use whois.net

Use the trace my computer stuff, the addresses it traces to can be found among the results.

Btw, anyone who's got telenet and is also lagging like hell?
Tech support made me trace for more than an hour. Ending result: "latency is caused by your provider."

He knows that bit, fusa - he's just looking for the right server to ping; ANet's Guild Wars server.

Thanks for the replies =)

I tried a handful of the IPs that came out as Areanet's servers, however, they do not respond to pings.

Some routers are configured to ignore pings deliberately. Pinging is a useful tool if you want to get responses. However, hackers looking for devices connected to IP's as a target.

For example, I know that my router at home is set for ignore pings, and it's a cheap wireless router.

Yea, I was hoping Arenanet had a pingable server.. maybe I should email their tech support for advice.

Are you sure about the tracert? I was able to run a tracert from the office. Failed after the 17th hop (ack) but it was on GW server at alter.net, so I knew it was fine.
