Farming Grawl Outside Port Sledge - Need An Ele Build!
whufc89
I was just wondering if anybody has a build or would be able to design a build for me that would allow me to farm the grawl outside Port Sledge, using an elementalist. I searched Pvxwiki but it only has builds for R/N & RT/ME.
It would be much appreciated, thanks.

It wouldn't be that hard. All you would need is a terra tank build, with sliver armor. I use my A/E Perma Sliver to farm there. Haven't gotten and elite tome but lot's of reg war/necro.
Hopes this helps.

Thanks a lot, I'll try it out

Ummm....why farm those?

For the same reason you farm anything. Gold drops, cash, tomes. And it breaks the monotony. I get bored after two-three UW runs and I'd like to do something else. Switching places is a good thing.

[sliver armor][glyph of swiftness][ward of stability][stoneflesh aura][armor of earth][obsidian flesh][stone striker][mantra of earth]
Should work well. I dunno about speed though...

There are no healers there except for the boss, and if you grab the huge group in the middle, Sliver should kill quite a few of them. However, they use a lot of conditions and the necros use [Well of Power] in HM. The Well should be out-damaged by sliver, though. And you'll need to keep up Obsidian Flesh all the time to prevent them stripping your enchants with Chillblains.
Not sure what you can do about the conditions if they do manage to get one on you, and they will, with [Plague Signet] and [Signet of Agony], as Obsidian Flesh won't help you with those.

Hmm, there's got to be a way
Just requires a little more thinking I suppose. Malko like you said, the conditions are probably going to be my downfall, so I'm gonna need to think of something.
I was thinking Avatar Of Melandru, but then that would take away Obsidian Flesh & obviously because I'm not a Dervish primary it would be a waste of time.

I'm not sure where you would get conditions from. The grawls cant use [chilblains] because of [obsidian flesh], so poison is not a trouble. They will use [signet of agony], but that degen should easily be covered with [aura of restoration]
Easy peasy.

I was thinking a Perma-Sin with Shadow Refuge to counter the Degen. I think you'll only have bleeding on you, and that's -3 degen. Anyway, at 15-16 Shadow Arts you can keep it up all the time with no problems so the degen should go away.
An ele primary with the perma-SF should be able to do it as well, but that would mean eating candy to keep SF up. I have no idea what he could use for healing if using the Obsi build. Maybe grab a hero and use bonds? :/ [mending] and [succor] and maybe [balthazar's spirit] ? Or [martyr] and [purge signet] on the hero and you micro it?
Kottis, I don't see [aura of restoration] in the build you posted There's no room there for it, either

Thank you Kottis ^_^
I did a few runs on my Perma-SF sin (My ele isn't anywhere near Droks >.>) and I noticed that the grawl crones don't use the wells or the signets. They just wand me and fail at casting Chillblains. So you might not have to worry about the signets. It might be different for Obsidian Flesh, since their attacks will still hit you.

Nice one, I'm gonna try that out now and let you know how it goes.
EDIT: I took out [skill]Ward Of Stability[/skill] & put in [skill]I am unstoppable[/skill] instead as WOS only allows me to stay in one place, whereas IAU allows me to move around without getting knocked down, therefore also allowing me to group up enemies.

Stick with ward, you can keep it up longer IMO
