I just got my Dervish/Ele to level 20, my first character, and I was wondering what a good build would be for PvE or Farming, and what armor/weapon I should get.

[build prof=Dervish/Elementalist][Wounding Strike][Chilling Victory][Mystic Sweep][Signet of Mystic Speed][Conjure Lightning][Heart of Fury][Faithful Intervention][Resurrection Signet][/build]
[build prof=Dervish/Warrior][Chilling Victory][Pious Assault][Eremite's Attack][Vital Boon][Attacker's Insight][Eternal Aura][Avatar of Balthazar][Resurrection Signet][/build]
[build prof=Dervish/Warrior][Wearying Strike][Wild Blow][Eremite's Attack][Imbue Health][Rush][Heart of Fury][Avatar of Melandru][Resurrection Signet][/build]

These are the builds I think are best.

You are going to want a scythe with the damage type to match whichever conjure you choose, in this case a lightning damage scythe. For the last two, you will want to use sundering primarily but carry zealous and vampiric as well. Bring an enchanting swap for the first one but it isn't necessary for the last two.

For whichever build you choose, make sure it has a skill which will apply deep wound plus some form of defense buff so you aren't so squishy.

to get elite skills you need a [[sigent of capture].

1.get signet
2.find the boss you want to kill (guild wiki)
3.kill the boss
4.use the signet
5.done

guildwiki rules you

[Signet of Capture]
Can be obtained by...

-Buy one from a Skill Trainer in Guild Halls

-Buy one from any skill trainer on the mainland (Nightfall)

-Finishing Signet of Capture quests: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Captu...net_of_Capture
-Using Elite Skill Tomes (very costly) on unlocked (need to have PvPed alot) Elite Skills.

Then go find a boss that has the elite skill that you want, kill it, then use your signet of capture. You can choose from a list of skills the dead boss has, so pick the elite one.

You get a Signet of Capture from a skill trainer. (Scroll to the bottom of the skill trainer's lsit).

There are different types of missions. When you enter certain outposts there will be an option to "Enter Mission". The best idea is to click on the Search button and join up with a team. In general, someone on that team will have done the mission before and can lead it.

Here are the missions specific to Nightfall. Nightfall Missions

Have fun.

AoB is bad because it's effects don't add anything new or effective to what you could already bring.

Holy damage can be obtained through [Aura of Holy Might]

A speed boost isn't necessary at all, but [Pious Haste] works.

And the +40 armor isn't necessary. If you want the extra armor, use [conviction] which isn't too good either.

AoL pwns with Eremites, Mystic, and Prot Strike. I'd recommend that.

ok, if you want a good build for general PvE, you going to run this:

Mystic schyte | victouriys swep | wild blow | mystic reg | Aura of holy might | zealous renwal | avatar of lyssa (E) | And the sunspear skill (dont remember what the name is)

12+1+3 schyte mastery
10 mysycycem
and rest in earth prayer.

any schyte

p.s. dont know how to write the code for skill template on this forum.....

(that wasnt meant to sound harsh). check out the starter guides on wiki (http://guildwars.wikia.com/wiki/Gett...8Nightfall%29), and just fumble your way through the game, you cant really screw anything up permanently if you dont know what to do.

edit. feel free to ask me any questions in game. my IGN is Celestial Coloneh (open friends list by pressing "n")

Guildwnerd's build is bad... Running around with 70 AL in the frontline with no form of self-preservation is retarded and last I checked bringing a deep wound on a frontline character is a good thing. Learn to play the game!

Avatar of Balthazar is a great elite skill but pve noobs don't know whats good because they are all clones of the same garbagey badness.

Tyla's build is better than mine because I used an (unnecessary) speed buff and he replaced it with a skill that increases damage output so... I like it better for most applications.

I use my monks for self-preservation, myself (that and I'm often running around with windwalker's on my Lyssa build anyway)... I don't die overly often.

You occasionally have excuses for bringing AoB - more in alliance battles than elsewhere mind - but quite often the +40 armor isn't really worth the elite slot. If a great damage sponge/tank is what you're after, a warrior probably does the job better.

'nuff defensive skills anyone? Not that it wouldn't work, but yeeaahhhh...

A lot of VoS builds I see use Heket's Rampage and a pet for backup.
