Opinions on mid-level build A/W

Hello guys, first post here!

I need some opinions about my A/W. Most of the PvE build on the forums are for high level players. In my case I don´t have most of the skills used on those builds. What I need is a friendly critique about my build, to know if I´m doing something very wrong and tips to improve it. Using as weapon Shreader´s Talons (7-17dmg, 9req daggers mastery, +30 health, +15 dmg on hexed foes);

My general build atm:

[build prof=A/W daggermastery=9 criticalstrikes=6 shadowarts=4 deadlyarts=4 tactics=1][Endure Pain][Shadow Refuge][Golden Lotus Strike][Unsuspecting Strike][Fox Fangs][Twisting Fangs][Crippling Dagger][Death's Charge][/build]

Any suggestions will be well received! Thx!

Character selection screen figuring what I want to play...

First off drop Endure Pain. Do you have Nightfall? If so go and get Critical Agility. Having two lead attacks is also stupid. Spec higher into Critical Strikes. Thats all I have to say for right now...

I assume u only have factions so lets get started, u should have have acces to two attacks called [golden phoenix strike] and [blades of steel]. Now I would get rid of [endure pain] and [golden lotus strike] for that. Also there's a slightly better green dagger called Claws of the Broadmother u can just buy it at 500g, it has 15^50 so it's slighty better dmg, also the because of it's cheapness it's reckonmended that u customize it for 10g so you deal a little more dmg. You might also want to get rid of shadow refuge because it's healing is very bad, so in other words you'll have to rely on your healers or your Death's Charge. I would replace it with [Shroud of Distress]that way u have an enchant that last long enough to recast, and also so that you can use [golden phoenix strike] because it needs an enchantment for it to hit. So to make it all make more sense [unsuspecting strike] [fox fangs] [twisting fangs] [golden phoenix strike] [blades of steel]. You can also replace fox fangs with [wild strike]. I hope what I've suggested helps

I'm not going to claim to be any kind of expert on Assassin build, but I have a good grasp of the basics, so I see a few mistakes you are making.

First of all, in almost all cases, you want your attribute points to be as concentrated as possible in what you really need. This means that you absolutely need to take those points out of tactics and deadly arts and put them somewhere else; namely Critical Strikes.

Also, using Endure Pain for defense is wrong. It buys you a few seconds, but that's about it. Once you get to the mainland get Critical Defenses, in the mean time I recommend Recall (just remember to target a backline caster).

Here's what I recommend:

[Mid Lvl Sin;OwBj0hf0IOOMG2BT/dAdZCMBAA]

You have a quick and cheap dagger chain, energy management, healing, a crappy defense enchantment, defense, and rez sig (a must for newbs).

As you level up, you might want to try to get something closer to:

[High Lvl Sin;OwFi0xjM9w4/cw0wo/UDOAFDCA]

Hi, thank you so far!

I have all campaigns and expansions, but can´t leave Cantha because I don´t have access to Kaineng City to do the quest, and for the same reason I can´t adquire the skills Nittle Grasper suggested. But I´m working on that, maybe I´ll get there today or tomorrow.

i'd suggest just getting to lvl 20 before you put much serious thought into finding a build. you get there fast enough anyway and the skills are all balanced around you being lvl 20.
edit: and theres not really any "high lvl players" in gw, just ppl who finished making their characters (lvl 20) and those who havent

Make sure to bring a ressurection skill, switch your secondary as secondary warrior is useless in PvE (IAS comes from Critical Agility)
You also FOR SURE need Death Blossom

[Death Blossom] > PvE

Pre-Moebius/Blossom madness:

DEADLY ARTS IS YOUR FRIEND.

Dagger: enough to meet your Daggers requirements (9)
Deadly: as high as you can
Crits: 3 or 8... a Deep Wound is a Deep Wound
...trash in Shadow

[skill]dancing daggers[/skill][skill]fox fangs[/skill][skill]twisting fangs[/skill]
DD! Ranged, so you can keep a better overview than with Unsuspecting. Easier on teh spammage as well.
[skill]shroud of distress[/skill][skill]shadow refuge[/skill]
Ample protection to get you out of dodge if you get ganged up on. Be sure to carry a ranged weapon as well (wand + shield worked out well for me) so you can trigger SR's 2nd part. Wanding works with Crits as well, gaining you energy, and giving you something to do between Dancing spam.
[skill]assassin's promise[/skill]: aim to cap this as soon as you reach the mainland. Before that... [skill]entangling asp[/skill], perhaps.

[skill]golden lotus strike[/skill] for a quick energy fix is a good idea.

I'd probably go for [skill]dash[/skill] in the last slot... used well, it's equally effective to the Shadow Steps available to you atm and FAR more versatile.

What can I say... until you get Moebius, Assassin's Promise is by far your best shot at success (so do NOT fall into the [skill]flashing blades[/skill] trap! Get your priorities straight )

But mod as you go. [skill]death blossom[/skill] (insert heavenly choir) can be bought at Seitung iirc...

For Shing Jea Isle, I would just stick with
[Jagged Strike][Wild Strike][Death Blossom]

Or if you want to use some tomes, [Golden Fox Strike][Golden Fang Strike] can be used.

Then [Critical Eye] for energy management. [Shroud of Distress] for defense. The rest is up to you. [Twisting Fangs] is alright for a deep wound but deep wound isn't very useful when enemies only have 200-300 health.

How can you go Warrior secondary and not have Frenzy as your IAS and Healing Signet as your self heal?

Only 1 lead attack, jagged is bad the only good thing is 1 sec recharge. [Black Mantis Thrust] is a better lead attack if you can get it. The problem with unsuspecting is its 10 cost & drastically reduced damage after initial attack. Dont waste a slot on [Golden Lotus Strike], if you need energy grab [Critical Eye] or [Critical Strike], but really a decent crit strikes rank should cover you.

[Crippling Dagger] is also a waste of a slot, and attributes as you dont need cripple so much in Pve, especially not with that short a duration. Pop those points in critical strikes, and that helps too.

I hope this helps. Its bad to spread you're attributes too much at first, because you dont have the attributes to spread. Even when ur lvl 20, you dont want to spread em more then about 3-4 lines max.

To the OP, try looking at the following guide for some ideas of how to set your build up:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10288967

This should serve you well until you get to areas with better elites:

[build prof=A/W Dagger=12+1+1 Critical=12+1][Critical Agility][Flashing Blades][Critical Eye][Golden Fox Strike][Wild Strike][Death Blossom][Assassin's Remedy][Resurrection Signet][/build]
