Hello Everyone

Was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a good Dervish/Rit build for tanking and surviving.

I am willing to test out multiple builds to get the best results so any comments welcome.

Thanks

To be completely honest there isn't really much a ritualist secondary can offer a Dervish. Is there a reason you seem to have your heart set on rit?

Dedicating your build to tanking and surviving is inherently a FAIL... you're a Dervish, you have the the highest DPS in PvE (at least in NM). Why would you sacrifice this and build a bar to just survive?

Anyway, as said, /Rit doesn't really offer anything for a Dervish. You'd probably just end up running a regular Dervish bar with [Death Pact Signet] or something for a rez.

I dont Was thinking about changing or going pure dervish. I really am looking for a good build for tanking self healing etc for PVE. I havent played in a long time and I know things have changed. Any build would be better then the one that I have right now. I do ok but not as good as I would like

With that any suggestions

Tanking and self-healing is a waste of time. Why would you do that?
Damage is priority

And so you can take standard PVX builds.

There are some good builds on the sticky.

You shouldn't waste your time with self heals. Have Tahl Prot Spirit you and you're good!

Also, having Olias as a Rit healer/anti-melee guy is bomb.

This is my build at the beginning of Kourna.

[Pious Assault][Lyssa's Assault][Wild Blow][Eremite's Attack][Heart of Fury][Attacker's Insight][Eternal Aura][Sunspear Rebirth Signet]

It's pretty good so far. Have a monk hero put [Judge's Insight] on you, and it's "bye bye RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing monkey paragons!"

If you have Avatar of Lyssa though.....use the build in the sticky. :P

Edit: WHOA didn't know Red Engine Gored = f word.

Maybe if you really really wanted to go /Rt you could take splinter/nightmare weapon? probably not as good as taking decent scythe attacks, but it's an idea.

But that's better utilized on a Rit or N/Rt, not on a frontline melee character.

go D/Mo/Me
I hurd [skill]echo[/skill]+[skill]arcane echo[/skill]+[skill]mending[/skill] was 1337
also Dervish benefits from losing enchantments incase your 1337 [skill]mending[/skill] gets stripped.
the rest of your bar is up to you, a few cover enchantments and perhaps skills that self remove enchantment(s) too

Try to replace earth prayers with restoration magic skillz......in some cases like agains mesmers and necros can be good cos ritualist spells can't be stripped...and as everyone knows: strip a derv and he got owned XD

for example: [mystic regeneration] [vital boon] or every enchant can be easily stripped by [rend enchantment] [shatter enchantment] [strip enchantment] and also [shattering assault] + all those dervish skills which make you lose enchantments......

Also some restoration magic skills are actually better then earth prayers.

If you want a derv rit build, it will take some doing. (I'm personally experimenting with one myself. Hey, having fun is the most important thing, right?) Not soloing too well, but imho, very, very fun to use.

For mobs, take Splinter Weapon. Max it, or at least get it to 10. That's 41dmg to up to 9 enemies on level 12. It's absolutely marvelous (and I mean, insanely fun... watch the numbers fly up around your dervish), but if you're not facing a mob, worthless. Just remember to renew it after your 3 or 4 attacks.

For surviving, I'd recommend the Rit skills Preservation, if you really want to try solo. I think it wold be worthless otherwise because the ghost heals one random party member. I also like Vital Weapon and Mend Body and Soul. With Vital weapon, use Avatar of Melandru. That's around at least 200 extra hit point. Then If you take a good healing skills, aka Victorious Sweep, Chilling Sweep.

Also, although not terribly effective, if you are facing a nice little knot of baddies, and summon a low energy spirit (such as pain or a healing one) it gives a rather nice little extra boost to your meeleeing. Just remember to summon it away from the mob (but still in range) so they don't kill it right off the bat. In other words, summon, and then charge!

Hope this helps.
