Having a hard time trying to pick my character that I want to title grind on.

I'm leaning towards D and R more then the others. Your picks and why?

Rangers are smart. Dervishes are dumb. But for real, ranger has always been my choice over other classes, you can control and manipulate the battlefield, while doing good damage and massive degen. Pets are good times as well.

I am title grinding my ele. Experimenting builds has kept it fresh and the range/control of the battlefield is similar to rangers. I would think it would be harder with a melee but am not as experienced with melees. Given your 2 choices, I would stick with ranger.

Go with Ranger, you get the best skill in the game, better known as [[distracting shot].

if you want to grind titles Rangers are a pretty bad choice unless you love trapping...
Dervish on the other hand is pretty good, you can go for survivor rather easily with it, it's great for running(chest hunter title, wisdom and lucky) and farming(wisdom and rep points) and general play.

if you want to try other classes Eles and Sins are the best for farming, Sins just with Shadowform Eles with more.
Monks and Necros are great for farming and casual play.
Warriors and Paragons are great for casual play, weaker for farming.

My mains a Dervish. Haven't really played rangers outside of AB/early PvE but from what I've gathered, they are more versatile and easier to pick up than dervishes...however, now that I have mastered my Dervish, I find it insanely fun and rewarding to play, and if you know how, they can also be versatile in many respects (healing, orders, running, farming, etc). Overall I'd say both professions are very similar, yet also different and both would be a very good choice :P

Pick the Ranger, the most versitile Proffesion in the game, how can you go wrong.

With the Ranger ther is something for him in every campain as well as the expansion, take your Derv to Factions and Tyria nd he's got nothing, no elites, no scythe drops, ect.

Rangers are by far easier to do things with, as savage Nornbear pointed out, BHA simply owns in HM. And if it's melee you wanna do, thanks to "Expertise" a Ranger handles an Axe, Sword or Scythe with ease.

Don't listen to Zling, I don't think he plays Guildwars much. Warriros weak at farming, LMAO.

On topic since you were basically deciding on R or D, personally my guild has a rank 5 KoaBD Ranger and a rank 3 KoaBD Dervish and the Ranger is far more interested in finishing it all up with the diversity of the Ranger, so if it's down to just R or D I'd go with the Ranger.

Ranger all the way.

Expertise even in it's current more limited form is still the best primary attribute. Rangers are versatile and have excellent armor.

I love my derv though, hes my main

paragons are increadibly useful, but for PvE there is one build you can use. thats boring.

The answer to all these threads is to play what you want to play. If you don't like a profession, even if it is better than the others, you won't play it and therefore won't get the titles.
