So, I remembered shortly after I decided to buy Guild Wars that there's a cap of level 20... I was a little worried and still am a bit, but I realize that this game wouldn't be so immensely popular if the game was over two days after you bought it.

So - what exactly DO you do after you've reached level 20 (and completed the campaign)?

Elite missions, titles, and pvp.

Could you elaborate on that a bit? :P

And can you pvp with your campaign characters?

Elite Missions = Underworld, Fissure of Woe, Urgoz, Deep, Domain of Anguish, Challenge Missions, etc. Locate through out each campaign, wiki it if you don't know where they are already. Oh and Dungeons too if you have GW:EN.

Titles as in work on maxing some titles if you want. There are titles for almost everything you do in Guild Wars.

Yes, you can PvP with a PvE character, but I wouldn't recommend it if it isn't PvP ready, as in max equipments. So until it's PvP ready, you should use a PvP character. But if you haven't unlock much then it shouldn't matter either way.

work on titles. getting every title, imo, is what i consider "beating the game".

you've beat every mission with masters/bonus on both hard and normal mode (protector/guardian), you've vanquished every area in the game, you've see every thing there is to see (cartographer), you've killed every boss there is to kill (skill hunter), ect ect-- the list continues...

this game is not about your level, getting to lvl 20 is just a formality.

In prophecies you should reach level 20 about 2/3 of the way through, factions 1/4 of the way, and nightfall 1/3 of the way. Therefore the things to do after reaching level 20 is play the game. Especially true if you want one character to go through all three campaigns plus the expansion as the vast majority of your in-game time will be at max level with max items.

If you mean after beating the game then you get elite missions, titles, and rare equipment/armor. If you are in a decent guild then it should take about a week or less of playtime (not in game time - much less than that) to beat those mission for your first time so that will not take long. Titles and rare equipment/armor can take a while to get but don't really offer much in the way of game play mechanics though many like to pursue them (I do - I enjoy playing the game and they give me some sort of goal).

Of course there is always PvP - for that I would suggest using a slot for a PvP character as it will be MUCH more convenient. There is nothing stopping you from using a PvE character and some people use that as a goal, but it will be harder to get into the higher level stuff. This can take up lots of time if you enjoy it and is always changing.

Just play the game and do not worry about it. It is worth it even if you treat it as only a single player game that plays through the story line. I've spent way more on way less from that respect. If you want to extra stuff then it will be apparent when it is time to go there.

Exactly. Level 20 is where the game begins, as they say. It's not about gear as well becasue max armors and weapons are very easy to get. Just think of the game as an online action rpg.

You're spending your time playing the game, not grinding...well you can do that too but all of them are optional.

doesnt matter what u do, as long it is fun.
PvP, Titles, Trading, Farming etc.

Me myself and I still enjoy the game after three years. Most important is a guild full of friends, a vent server to socialice and a good attitude.

^That. Shaz is jumping the gun by listing end game content, optional grind and PvP content for more seasoned players. Lvl 20 is the floor, not the ceiling. And GW isn't a conventional mmo, so get those notions out of your head.

Do note that in the campaigns after prophesies, you hit 20 between 5 and 15% into the game (prophesies is about 50%). There's a BIIIIIG gap between hitting 20 and finishing the campaign.

Afterwards you can do:
Elite Areas
Ego trip (Elite armor/weapons/title grinding/etc)
PvP
The other two campaigns and/or EoTN
Try another class.

No, I didn't. Tell me what is there to do beside Dungeon/Elite Areas after you beat all campaign? Yes, titles are optional, I never said he has to do it, but the fact of the matter is that titles is one of the reason most of us are still playing PvE. And if you never try PvP you'll never be a seasoned player, you have to start some where.

why does everyone reffer to titles as a "grind" ?? :\ titles are in no way a grind. it's how you apporach them that makes you think of them that way. when i did my titles, i progressed the, little by little every day (for example: legendary vanquisher; when i got this i did 3-4 zones a day on my work days after coming home, and, on my single off day i did 5-8).

titles are progressive, not a grind, i can vouch for that.

It's all depend on how you look at it. If you don't care for a title and just want it to show off to other then it can be a grind. Or if you want your Ursan Blessing to be stronger, for example, but don't really care for the norn title, then that's also a grind. But if you're one of the player that enjoy doing certain thing and like to have a goal to work toward to, then it's not a grind. For example, if you enjoy going around killing boss for their elite then skill hunter is not a grind, but for other it might be.

yep. and that's why my titles weren't a grind, i progressed them at a comfortable rate that didn't require me to play for many many many hours a day just to finish them "faster".
