too late for getting 2nd account?

I've been thinking of getting a 2nd account. I have my own guild (PvE) but have been doing more and more PvP lately and in order to do any serious PvP I need to join a PvP guild. So basically I have the dilemma of getting a 2nd account and leave it in my PvE guild (where my friends are )and play with my main account in a new PvP guild.

Lately a bunch of friends have left but I like to still remain in the guild (as I'm the guild leader). With GW2 around the corner, I can't justify spending another 40 bucks for a second account (factions + proph pack) but I'm very tempted. I know many people have second/third accounts but that's for different reasons and they got theirs long time ago.

GW2 isn't for at least another year.
If you feel like you can spare the 40 bucks and you will benefit from buying it, then i don't see a problem with it if it's PvP only account.

I recently got a second account. If you scour Ebay, online stores, and check your local stores, you can pick up some deals. I ended up spending about $70 for all the games in New, Un-opened boxes and then another $30 to unlock the skills. Even that is probably higher than what you can find with enough looking.

You can also buy a pvp-access kit via ingame online shop... it costs 17.99 euro and it gives you access to chars from every champain (you cant play pve) and gives you 60 free unlocks (20 elites, 20 normal skills and 20 items). Downside: you need to unlock every skill again...

I basically just need an account to "park" on my guild (as leader) while I use current account to PvP. I am 90% unlocked on PvP skills on current account. I don't know. I am trying to find one cheap but no luck. Stores don't sell prophecies only accounts any more , only bundles.
thing is if i leave my guild, it will disband and I still enjoy PvE with friends once in a while. I just need to go one way or another.

ffs why do people say gw2 is just around the corner. Its a year away. Do what you want.

Guildwars also isn't going to shut down when gw2 comes out. Its not like we all have to stop playing GW1 when GW2 starts.
