1. Does having a pet reduce your XP or gold intake like having a henchman or a hero does?

2. Where can I find some information on the stats of different potential animals for pets in nightfall?

Pets don't reduce your XP or gold and they don't get DP. It's all good.

So if I am understanding that guide right, the only real difference between animals is the damage type, the other differences being neglibable.
