need help with AB derv builds
The Thrasher
I just need some fun dervish builds for AB. Dont worry whether its difficult t use or not.
I get kinda sick of using the same old meta game wounding strike build. i find it hard to use these kinda builds when everyone knows your skills. then you get all sorts of counters and blocking and who knows what. I know dervs may not be the best for AB, but I just play to have some fun. thanks in advance!

Blocking counters every (good) dervish build. You could run some kind of iffy caster derv thing though if you really don't want to melee, since it's only AB anyway.

[blackout] + [vow of strength] lol this sucks but it's funny when u bloackout a monk and his face turns like this o_O : wth is this f*****g dervish doing???

It's lulz. Yes, I tried it...and the Luxons won Ancestral Lands...not really sure it was all down to me though.
Perhaps try [[Meditation] instead if Signet of Pious Restraint.
If you want different, fun and unexpected, it's certainly that!

I tried out this build yesterday and was actually very effective:
[avatar of grenth] [mokele smash] [staggering blow] [heavy blow] [crushing blow] [vital boon] [signet of pious light] [resurrection signet]
the only problem could be adrenaline management, but i had no problem actually.

[wounding strike][chilling victory][mystic sweep][signet of mystic speed][no skill][heart of fury][conjure lightning][attacker's insight]

Oh, read the OP and I don't see how abusing broken stuff by using it on bad players for twice the result isn't fun!
[avatar of melandru][wearying strike][eremites attack][bull's strike][heart of fury][attacker's insight][rush][no skill]
If you're scared of blocking you can always use [[guiding hands] before the spike.
Oh yeah, and another build sort of like AoM...
[wearying strike][signet of malice][eremites attack][heart of fury][shadow walk][dash][guiding hands][no skill]
Choose the elite you want.

Unfortunately I don't know how to put the skill icons in (*presents wrists for slapping by all the savvy people*) since I haven't been posting much lately, but I've been running a borderline ridiculous (even though it's still a) Wounding Strike build, but without the Conjure. I've been speccing into all dervish atts (13/10/9/9) and running Featherfoot Grace for IMS, Vital Boon + Pious Resotration for a self heal + kickass hex defense, and mystic regen/vigor, even though most of the time in AB I just use vigor as a throw away enchantment for Pious since it's cheap. Then for my utility I run Guiding Hands because it seems like every time I decide to drop it I face monk teams or rangers with like a zillion dodges.
The downside is it only gets 2 attack skills (Wounding Strike and whatever else you want--but I'm a dick so when I AB I like to have not only a snare but also a speed boost, so on my bar it's Crippling Sweep) but Featherfoot is passable condition defense, even if it's a little pricey, and with Pious I basically can't be hexed for more than a few seconds: watching Enemy Mesmers or Necros waste Empathy or SS on me just makes me grin. I don't think I've caught anyone else using it--god only knows why--dropping an enchant (a ~200pt self heal that recharges reasonably quickly if it's Vital Boon) and 2--2! Hexes at 9 Wind Prayers is pretty beastly.
It's decent if you play it right--I've only been using it for a week and I 've already gotten a lot of hate over it so I consider it a nominal success so far. You kind of have to rely on other players for damage which kind of sucks, but so many people build for damage anyway it's fun enough for me to run up to people, crip sweep them, and watch them hobble around for 20 or so seconds until they get eaten up by a passing group.

Minus the spaces. Although you wouldn't want to use 4 skills for self defense... If you're using Featherfoot, you might aswell take Signet of Mystic Speed / Enchanted Haste for a much, much better IMS.

A better alternative to counter blocking would the good ol' Ebon Dust Aura + Unseen Fury.

You're right that four skills is a lot for defense, but the build's survivability is pretty high as a result. Given the prevalance of c-spacing, you can just about tank in AB, and this build reflects that. Time and movement is more important to me in AB than damage is--since just about everyone else builds for damage anyway I figure I can focus on slowing down or weakening the other team rather than out-and-out killing them. I run with a lot of health (700 with boon up and a +30 scythe, even though I've opted for a +20 enchant recently) so it's misleading when I'm degenning a bit and I have what appears to be low health--but there's still 300+hp on my bar. You'd be amazed at how many people I can draw out looking for a quick kill. Running is a perfectly legitimate tactic if you can draw enemy players back into territory they already control. It's certainly not a conventional AB build, but I never intended for it to be that anyway. Besides, it'd be simple enough to just drop Mystic Vigor for something else, since it's usually just a throw-away enchant for Pious. I almost never use it for its actual effect, so you could easily get away with losing it in favor of an attack skill or something else--Victorious Sweep leaps to mind.
Also, EDS + Unseen Fury is nice, but I don't want to have to use an Elite for it, and this build being what it is I can't spec into Shadow Arts. It works better, you're right, but it doesn't fit the concept of this build as I made it. It sounds fun as hell, but it would probably require a completely new build.

I'd stick with [Avatar of Dwayna]. Good self healing + hex removal and it allows you to solo most shrines except the ele one.
[Avatar of Dwayna][Pious Assault][Chilling Victory][Eremite's Attack][Pious Fury][Pious Haste][Dark Prison] and something else
Or if you want condition removal then put [Mending Touch] instead of Death's Charge.
I've never had problems with blocking tbh. Only stupid warriors with riposte/glad's defense/etc. block excessively, and they're not worth the time spent killing them. Most AB monks suck and you can just pressure them dead in 20 seconds.
For Rangers, most of them use [Natural Stride] and Dark Prison will end that.
