Take MS/DB spam imo or Shattering Sin for areas with annoying enchants (o hai sliver armour).
For heroes... just roll with 3 negroes/ sabway

Here is my Assassin's skill bar, it works just about everywhere, with a little adjustment to the build here and there (only place this build has gotten slaughtered is Shards of Orr).

Best daggers for this build would be to being both Zealous, 15^50, +30 and Vampiric, 15^50,+30. Use Zealous in between fights and when low on energy *which is usually after casting enchantments/stance* and vampiric when in fights and well on energy (or for when fighting e-denial, just use the vampiric since you will never be well on energy).

Armor doesn't seem to affect the build much, except for having a Minor critical(and crit head) and Major Dagger (or vice versa). Insignias I like are all survivor, all radiant, or Nightstalker on chest and leggings +radiant or survivor on other three *I have 4 different armor sets, different combinations work well in different areas, high damage area=armor+health for instance*

if you want non cookiecutter builds than I guess you'd have to search for them on your own

15^50 on daggers is bad. The 15% only affects the base damage (7-17), not the extra 40 or so from DB. Which means every attack is getting an extra 1 or 2 damage. +5e is a way better inscription for daggers.

Besides the builds people have mentioned here, I would also try Critical Barrage. It uses basically the same skills as Azazel's build with a few changes. Way of the Master (EotN skill) in place of Way of the Assassin, and Barrage for your elite. Favorable Winds and a zealous recurve/flatbow recommended. Also, if you can fit it in, take Disrupting Accuracy for any annoying casters. (Note that you will take Accuracy off if you use Barrage.) 16 Crit strikes and 12 Marksmanship. Rest should be +hp or +en insignias and runes.

Forget Resurrection Signet or self heals. Your job is maintaining +100 armour on the rest of the party. If your Monks can't manage to keep you alive then they need to uninstall Guild Wars, harsh but true.

As for equipment, run with Furious Daggers of Fortitude with + 5 energy inscription as modifications to base dagger damage is hardly worth it and it will allow you to drop a bit of energy off your armour for extra health or armour bonuses.

The thing is, with Zealous daggers, you don't need the +5e for energy, so the +1-3 damage is rather helpful still.

Actually, the purpose of an assassin is for high fast damage to the supporters of enemy groups, at least imo. Paragons are the ones to run the party wide buffs. But thats just difference of opinions. That also depends on whether you're running H&H or with players and whether a Paragon is available to run Imbagon for you. Good luck trying to put Save Yourselves on a hero.

I never use Save Yourselves! on myself (and obviously not on heroes) nor do I ever go out of my way to party with one, and I always do fine (excluding one rather annoying dungeon for me -cough Shards of Orr cough-). And if your H/H and your monk can't keep you alive, with or without your own self-heals, then they can't uninstall GW. Good luck trying to get Dunkoro to uninstall himself.

What you do by choice is evidently, your choice. That doesn't nessaarily mean its the best choice. I mean (for example) I for certain wouldn't run Critical Eye and Way of the Assassin side by side. I don't really see the need to waste two slots on criticals with such a high critical hit rate. I'd rather take Moebius Strike and Critical Strike and get some good spammable energy management on demand and AoE damage.

What it comes down to, as I've always said in discussions like this, is an individuals playing style and preference. With that said anyone not taking advantage of +100 armour on their whole party from Save Yourselves with such a fast attack rate to maintain it, while still being able to maintain good damage on their target, should have a damn good excuse to not take it, because there isn't really any good reason not to.

On a side note: The OP asked for a BUILD. That means we can avoid an epic of QQing over which is more effective for EQUIPMENT, 15^50 for +1-3 damage or +5 energy for an extra skill usage. It's all preference and is affected by how you play.

EDIT: Less QQ more pew pew.
