On Topic: I really should keep up with what's going on the official sites, but also, it would be nice to have regional-based competitions announced at the login screen or something (maybe then the player base ignorant of who Anet is will realise that someone can actually help them).

So... this thread is about the EU version... Why there is no thread yet to congratulate the winners of the american version is unknown to me.

The European part of the contest started later than the North American portion. Expect the same length of delay in posting the European winners.
