High Resolution Textures

Hey Anet, Great game and all, but its been 3 years now and I think the PC's today can handle high res textures that are already in the game but disabled in towns and outposts.

Wouldnt it be great if we had an option to turn on the high resolution textures and see everyone in their full artistic glory? Its a shame to let all this great artwork go to waste with low res versions of our characters in towns and outposts and I understood why they chose to do it. But that was then, this is now we need to be able to max the beautiful graphics that are already there. There needs to be a graphic option for high res textures in towns.

You should email Anet directly. They don't flip through these random guru threads.

I'm not so sure about that...imagine during wintersady or halloween or any major event the lag/fps you will have...

AMAZING this was exactly what I was looking for thanks!! Its a shame they just dont include this in the option because wow what a difference Its like going from regular tv to HD tv.

Try that mod yourself on my system I didn't see any lag im still getting 75fps which is maxed out by my vertical sync, and outside of towns all the textures are high res anyway so youre not going to see any drop there. But man in towns look amazing now its almost like a new game. This definately needs to be an option, Anet can even advertise it as a graphic upgrade and get some good pr out of it at the very leaste.

Really ? Hmm maybe I should try that xD.
But I'm pretty sure that on an event such as wintersday it's going to be off for me.
