just noticed the price of UW scroll...or...was it 1.4k before?

doesnt really matter, ppl can buy scrolls from the trader for more then 5k each and still make a profit.

I'll bet my left nut that axing favor entirely is on Anet's 2008 agenda for PvE changes.

Y'know....I remember way back in the day when I had finally gotten everything together for a set of fow, I had to wait a couple days to get in because we didn't have favor when I was on. Favor was based on who won Halls and far from constant depending on time of day etc. You'd go into a Realm, and depending on who won Halls, if you wiped you might not even be able to get back in.


Worst case now, you use a scroll and poof!

The huge favor was more an oversight on Anet's part, they didn't see it coming for whatever reason with the ss/lb weekend. If it runs out...it runs out. Still a whole lot easier than before right?

When it will run out (based on collected data I predict around 10th July) it will finally start to work as intended - we won't have it 100% of the time but still more often than not. It will be on nonstop during high play hours, sometimes off during less played hours.
And one most important thing - the temporary lack of favor won't affect the overfarm of ectos - the farmers will use scrolls and scrolls are pretty common drop in UW, and they will continue to drop.

When it hits 0, I wonder if ANet will give us back the ~42k or whatever amount that we exceeded the system by.

We ought to have a party when our favor runs out.

No, they won't rise, because favor is required to spend ecto and shards. Losing favor means that the largest drain on ectos, and the only drain on shards is lost as well.

I can't imagine Chaos Gloves alone will push up ecto prices very much. It's not like we lost access to UW but can still get into FoW to spend ectos/shards.

Well, yes, we are owed it. The deal was: you max one of theses titles and you get a global message broadcast and 3 minutes of favor. Well, People did the title grind. They earned their 3 minutes in the way a-net defined. They should get their 3 minutes. Simple as that.

No, you don't get it at all. If they had never given us the bonus weekend, we would still have a whole bunch of unmaxed SS and LB titles that could have produced a steady stream of favor. Instead we end up with a huge number of people who have "spent" the only unmaxed titles they were ever realistically able to max, and got nothing in return for it. Not having the weekend at all would have been much better than having it but not counting the favor from it.

Again, I understand they made a mistake and under most circumstances, should be rectified in the manner of benefiting the player base. However, this is a special circumstance. The newer favor system was, in my opinion, and i believe in anet's opinion, never meant to accumulate so much favor in so little a time. It completely belittles the point of even having favor. The bug was rather fortunate for them; it rectified a situation that was completely out of hand.

Besides, you came out ahead anyway. I believe that you'd be a person that if I said here's $1000, have fun, and then decided I'd only give you $500...you'd complain. I say this because this is exactly what you, and many others are doing now. Yes, I screwed you by taking back what I said I would give, but I was still giving it to you, and you still came out way ahead. You should be happy they atleast you gave you something. Anet could easily say, "due to the problems that pop up more often in weekend events than in weekdays, we are going to stop the bonus weekends." It's the simplest solution, and frankly the deserving solution considering the exuberant amounts of complaining and whining they receive daily.

Yes, that's half-right. I thought it was instead of Hall of Heroes, it was accomplishments, but only to the district they were achieved in. I read and figured out it's world wide.

Except for the fact that nothing will be lost. Favor will not simply go and never return - in fact after hitting 0 we will continue to have favor more often than not!
At current rates it will be on ~65-70% of the time during weekdays and ~85-90% time during weekends. Just not 100%.
And that won't make ANY difference - scrolls are common farmed drops and cheap!
