Kind of a Big Deal

I'm try to be Ron Burgandy and get the Kind of a Big Deal title for the Hall of Monuments. I already have two titles, Protectors of Elona and Tyria.

So I need three more titles. I'm trying to figure out which ones I can get the quickest.

My progressions so far:

Lightbringer lvl 4
Sunspear lvl 9
Norn lvl 6
Deldrimor, Vanguard, and Asuran lvl 5

Unfortunately I finished the facet dragon quest before I knew it was a great way to farm norn points.

No other titles are even close.

I was thinking about the skill hunter tracks. I would think they would be more interesting than grinding for points, but the cost of all of those cap signets would be enormous.

Any suggestions?

Do the three protectors then do ss+lb together.

Skill hunter title imo will be good. Not too repetitive except for prophecies ones and also it is helpful if you unlock all the elites, be it for pvp purpose, heros, or unlocking with a tome for your other characters in future.

Are you saying you don't have Cantha? If you do, why not go for the other Protector title?

Other than that, most people seem to go with Sunspear and Lightbringer as their other two titles for the first five. You can search for the farm on the wiki, it's pretty straightforward.

If you don't have Cantha, then I'm not sure whether a Skill Hunter title or Reputation title would be faster for you.

I'd go for the Norn title. Even though you have completed the Path to Revelations, just hook up with someone who has it, and make sure it's HM.

I was r3 Ursan just a few hours ago, and now i'm r5 (Nearly 6), making many thousand points in a short space of time.

My personal favourite is Asuran, but that's only r5. I love the skills they have, so I would do that.

But it depends on what you enjoy, and what you think you can do fastest!

Yes, if you have cantha available, get protector on that. Elona Grand Master Cartographer is pretty easy too since you don't have to do anything past the vortex (and by now you've probably gotten most of the area explored anyway). Grab the texmod to get those bits and pieces.

Your sunspear is really close and you can do that at the same time as lightbringer. I went from just starting rank 3 to maxing LB over the course of about 4 days. The last day is a grind, but it's worth it. There's a faster place if you're just going for sunspear and for the full final rank you could get it in a couple hours. BUT since you're so close to that anyway and need LB also, just combine efforts.

I'd have to agree with kobey. Get the Legendary Skill Hunter if you access to all areas in the game, but it will cost you 100k+ for the Signets and some nerves for the Prophecies-skills^^

Don't forget Nightfall is 111+core because of [Lightbringer Signet]

Anyway when I first got it, it was because of Legendary Cartographer and Protector of Cantha. Cartography is mind numbing but ungodly easy. That's my vote.

Thanks to everyone for their prompt and helpful replies!

I do have Factions. However I haven't done any of the Kurzik missions as I have a Luxon guild. I'm trying to run all of my avatars through the Luxon missions as I already have 10,000 Luxon faction and I don't want to waste any of it.

As for skillhunter it is attractive because each one counts as a title and legendary skillhunter counts as another. I know it will cost a lot of cash, but I have already paid for 8 sets of elite armor.

So what I think I will do is try for the skillhunter titles and grind LB and Sunspear for money when I need it. I still have The Last Patrol quest active which will help a lot to get LB points, plus you get good drops there.

Plus, I need to make some of my heroes better. I don't have any assassin or ritualist elites yet because both of those avatars of mine are still on the island.

I'm going to start with the Prophesies skills, so which ones take "some nerves?"

Can anything be worse than the Bison Tourney or Cold as Ice?

BTW, I have an avatar of each class, except for warriors that I have 4 of. I have one warrior for each type of weapon, plus a warrior in pre-searing. The one in pre-searing was for the Defender of Ascalon title, but death leveling was driving me NUTS!

Also, what is "texmod?"

texmod is something that changes the texture of things ingame
eg. weapon skin, armor skin, NPC skin, GUI, and texture of general things
also, there are mods that helps on catographer title as it replaces the world map with a special map that tells you where you've explored and where you still need to

Unlike Factions/Nightfall/EotN, Prophecies has some bosses that are random spawns; AKA you don't always know where to find them, if they're even there. Therefore you have to keep redoing the same area over and over until you get what you're looking for.

It's a way to alter the graphics of the game to give you useful information, such as the dreaded "spirit range" of some spells, changes in graphical interface, or the most popular use, cartography aid. It is not supported by Anet but they have said they have no issues with you using it.

Also, may I suggest "Requiem for a Brain" and "A Show of Force" for your SS/LB farming.

OK, I understand. It took a few attempts for my Necro to cap SS because of that.

I found Legendary Delver easy by farming Secret Lair of the Snowmen and personally I found it less boring then farming ss/lb. I did do most of the farming in last double bonus weekend tho.

I definately want to get both the norn and dwarf titles at some point, because my W uses several of their skills.

I like several of the Asuran skills too, especially pain inverter. I doubt I will ever get all of their skills though, because I LOATHE Polymock.

of all titles
those were my first 3 i maxed
i did legendary skill hunter first the first time
did them campaignwise as well
first proph cuz that's the one that's most troubling
then factions, wich is kinda easy but not that easy
then nightfall wich was the most expensive one to do
so if you wanna get a skill hunter for a maxed title on it
go tyrian skill hunter wich is cheapest, takes long and frustrating but that'll be done
then do all protectors
that's 4 titles
then do ursan or something

If you're going to do the Legendary Skill Hunter, might I suggest using this tool here. It's called Mapping Out, I used it to get LSH on my necro and it helped out ALOT. It shows the location of each elite skill, the boss that it comes from, and on top of that it shows you if they have a green to grab as well. It also shows the locations of collectors and allows you to make notes on the map as well! I'm actually shocked that it slipped all the way to the 3rd page of Community Works. It's one of those posts I always felt deserved "sticky" status.

Since you got 9 sunspear, might as well finish it. Try to get guardian/vanquisher maybe? While doing cartographer or something on the side. DO NOT attempt Savior of Lux/Kurz unless you want your life to be consumed by GW.

I thought that Legendary Skill Hunter would be less of a grind than other titles but that wasn't the case. Not only was it a real bore in the end but it also cost a fortune in cap signets and when I ran out of skill points with about 15 elites still to capture it was even worse. I ended up farming for xp so that I could get enough skill points. Took ages. On the plus side, because you are killing hundreds of bosses, you will probably pick up quite a few green items.

Farming SS/LB out from Remains of Sahlahja in HM, though boring, can at least be done in PUGs which provides a bit of entertainment. It is also very lucrative - I went from having zero cash after getting Legendary Skill Hunter to over 250k by the time i'd maxxed out SS and LB - lots of lockpicks, tomes and gold items.

The least boring of the titles I achieved was actually Grand Master Cartographer of Tyria, though you would think it would be mind-numbingly boring. I really enjoyed watching those percentage points slowly creeping up and the high-end areas (eg Ring Of Fire Islands) were quite a challenge.

Thanks for the link! I downloaded it, and it is an impressive tool. It does have one or two bugs though. When I tried to check off all of the skills that my character had gotten "Charge!" was missing from the list.

You've probably already marked it, and it was set to not show skills you already had. Take a good look at the settings It also doesn't show core skills in some situation, depending on how you set it.

Like the others said, Go for Sunspear and Lightbringer, with skill capping on the side. The SS/LB runs will get you cash and experience, although you can always craft a bunch of Stars of Transference on a different character and get more skill points. If you only need the Luxon side in Cantha, take the time to do that as well, it's not hard and it will mean another title maxed

I have started with the Core elites and it hasn't become a grind, at least yet. I am going to cap the elites by class so I can keep track easier.

I have plenty of skill points (229), so that won't be a problem. I can tell money will be a problem though. I have 19 platinum in storage and I can tell it won't last long. So I will need to grind SS/LB points to get more money anyway.

Right now I'm at 12/90 Tyrian, 11/141 Elonan, and 9/120 Canthan so I have a ways to go yet!

I found "Charge!" It wasn't where I expected; the quotes take it out of alphabetical order. It sure is an incredible program!

I'm going to have to go for LB and SS; I'll need the money!
