I'm a warrior using sentinel's insignia along with a stonefist. Should I put the stonefist insignia on my helm, hands, or feet? Because I heard that certain attacks and spells tend to hit a specific location more often than others. So which armor piece will tend to be hit the least often? Thanks in advance.

Put the stonefist on a smaller piece. Either one of the three you mentioned would work. Put the sentinel's on chest or leggings, they have a higher probability of being hit. Feet and hands have the least probability of being hit.

Here are the statistics-
* Head - 12.5% (1/8)
* Chest - 37.5% (3/8)
* Hands - 12.5% (1/8)
* Legs - 25% (2/8)
* Feet - 12.5% (1/8)

Hands or feet, preferably hands. Why?

Mind spells (i.e. Mind Freeze, Mind Blast, etc) hit the head.

Any attack that cripples hits the feet. (i.e. Pindown, Cripshot, Cripslash, hamstring, etc)

So, your hands are least likely to be hit overall (not just based on the standard attack rate of a melee or ranged weapon) Attack skills change the location based on their description. Mind skills hit your "mind", just as the name suggests. Always keep that in mind, no pun intended.

I remember reading somewhere that non-projectile spells always hit the torso. Can someone find an authoritative source on this?

Is there any way this can be confirmed? I've never heard this. Maybe you're just reading between the lines too much.

It wouldn't be hard to confirm. Just wear armor with different AL's (i.e, 80AL helmet, 71AL curiass, 50AL leggings and so on) and get an ele to cast Mind Freeze on you several times. If you always take the same amount of damage, then the spell is targeting a specific body part, if not, then it's random (maybe it follows the hit rate of weapons (3/8 on chest, etc), maybe it doesn't, I don't know.)

Hmm, yeah, that'd work. I guess I could test this some time.

Some spells will always hit the feet. Things like [eruption] are ground based, not target based. Not sure about the Mind spells hitting the head or cripple skills hitting the feet. Makes sense, but this is the first I have heard about it.

I'd recommend the gloves. 2 reasons why. I'm old school, and you could originally only get that armor mod on gloves. Second, the feet are easier to protect from those few specific spells, and the head is easier for people/monsters to hit from a height. So those Rangers standing on a wall/hill will have a better chance to hit your head.

Hands have no bonus to being hit by a particular attack/spell.

AFAIK, none of these are true anymore. None of the spells/skills have any special preference in hit locations.
