Farming Raptors with a derv. LOL
Raptor farming is all about Sliver Armor. Perma Shadow Form does nicely with that cave these days. With a derv primary, your options are limited.
To tell you the truth, that cave is over farmed. Doing it for drops is a joke after the first couple runs these days. Doing it for reputation is a waste of time IMO. Hard Mode Books FTW!

Raptor caves are going to be over-crowded this weekend (double rep week = 10k asuran pts/hr) as well as any other weekend that you get drops from monsters (cupcakes, treat bags, etc...) as you're killing alot of monsters, but most of the time they're giving next to nothing...
If you plan on starting now, don't bother, go farm somewhere else, especially with a derv, who has limited options to farming the raptor cave.

Is possible to farm it with Monk??

I suppose you can 600/smite it with a hero... they don't have enchantment removal, but you might have to kill the raptor patrol to keep the smiter alive, and they have a lifestealing skill that will kill you.
Edit... no, they don't use Twisting Jaws. Shows that I don't farm there >.> They'll still interrupt the hell out of you, though.

Mantra of Resolve is part of the 600 build, usually, but they have Wild Strike, and it only takes one hit to take you out of it.
Ghost Knight
Where is this place specifically, the raptor farming area?

you can 55 the baby raptors excluding the mama group, they don't have wild strike. You can 600/smite the entire southern half of the explorable netting up to 2k points. The only way you may die is too many twisting jaws/life steal from the necros. For the big raptors cast prot spirit, bond and SoA right as they aggro before they reach you. When you need to re-up your enchants just hit mantra and cast quickly before they can blow it off and interupt.

um where can I find this raptor farming area?
Tyla
Just outside of Rata Sum.

More specifically, it's directly South-South-East of the Rata Sum portal to Riven Earth.

As I mentioned in the warrior farm thread, I think the mist form build can be adapted for almost any profession.
"I really like this Mist Form idea for raptor farming. It seems to be more predictable than the Stone Striker build. Here's what seems to work for me:

Use a 20% enchanting something to give you more time on the running skill.
Cast Armor of Mist and Glyph of Sacrifice (1&2) in mouth of cave and run in and aggro all the raptors. Watch your Glyph carefully, when it starts to blink, go ahead and cast your Mist Form (3). You probably won't have made it far enough to aggro the boss mob, so go ahead and walk in and aggro the Broodmother. This was killing me because they would always interrupt sliver, so I added the dual blocking skills which seems to protect against any sort of interrupt (it happens extremely rarely). I assume that whirling defense and magnetic aura are cumulative because when I only use one of them I get interrupted A LOT. You can then hit the rest of your skill bar (Air of Superiority, Sliver Armor, and EBSOH) and recharge Mist as needed. They never seem to do any damage to me, so I just run all radiant and attunement. Be sure to hold aggro on the Broodmother or she will run away. Another trick you can do is that as soon as you talk to the Weapon Krewe Asuran is to run far to the right so you can see the red dots of the raptor nestlings on your radar (through the wall, before you go into the cave). You can then tab select the Broodmother beforehand so that you aren't fumbling around trying to click on her when you are doing the run. Failures are very rare. Causes of major failure: #1 Rubber banding running through cave (don't bump into anything), #2 Interrupted sliver (still happens, but very rarely), #3 Bad angorodon spawn (nothing you can do about that, rezone). Even if Air of Superiority doesn't give you a recharge, you will get a recharge for killing the Broodmother. Worst case, you will still get 25 kills and kill the boss."
That is for a ranger, so you need to find a profession specific skill to replace whirling defense (a fast casting interruption prevention skill).
Here's the thread discussing it:

Also, regarding this area being "overfarmed". I don't think it matters how many people farm raptors. They are still going to drop golds at the same rate (unless Anet changes the drop rate). Sin Tomes may drop in value (but they seem to be in demand right now with everyone starting sins). Ele swords have already hit rock bottom anyway. Dyes are pretty constant. As far as I know, there isn't anything in the code that makes the raptors drop less golds if more people are farming them...
