Probably means that your templates directory is somehow set to read only or it can't create a template directory.
Go to your guild wars directory. If you don't know where that is, it defaults to
C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\
(If you are using Vista it will be somewhere else, I can't tell you where because I don't know, but I think the templates are saved somewhere in your user-specific directory on the C: drive.)
Look and see if a folder called 'Templates' exists. If it doesn't, create a folder and name it templates. Then inside the folder named templates create folders named 'Skills' and 'Equipment'. After doing this, right click on each of these folder's and select properties. Under the general tab there will be a checkbox that makes the folder read only. Make sure this checkbox is cleared then hit OK. Do this for each folder. Again, the method may be different if you are using windows Vista, someone else could point out any differences if you can't figure it out.

Or do i have to minimize GW go to my documents get the template code and manually pick the skills? Sorry if the first post was a little confusing. Yes my issue is im running vista and i cannot save or load build templates and i didnt know if there was a solution to the problem.

Brian: Did you save them from your other computer and move them to your new one? Skill templates are saved as text files on whichever machine you are using when you create the template.
EDIT: Ok....Vista, you may need to respond to a UAC box....are you the "administrator" of the machine or is this a family box?

I didnt but even new templates wont save. The files are set to read only and i go in a change them and apply the changes but it will not save the changes and goes right back to read only.

I am the administrator and sorry but honestly im not sure what a UAC box is.

I'm wondering if you truly are the admin if you're not seeing a box pop up and ask you if you are the one performing that action and basically asking your permission to allow it. It's User Account Control and usually you get it whenever you alter system settings. Now it could be disabled...which would mean you still need admin privilage to change the files from read-only.
edit: thanks for the screenie Tarun

I am running GW on a vista home premium system I don't use the admin account to play games on but the templates I created on vista and those I copied over from an xp machine are working just fine.
So there should be a way for you to do the same, vista does allow them to work.

Um, in Vista, your templates are stored at:
C:\Users\your_username\Documents\Guild Wars\Templates
