New way to scam - Beware, guys, always reported here

Hi everyone...today....it happened to me something extremely funny...(I can say with sarcasm...^^)

"Scamming on high-end value weapons(tormented ones, voltaic spears and obsidian edge)"

I was in Spamadan american dis 2 when I saw a strange announce (see photo for details):



And so..I decided to see how I can help this guy...(but I had my little dubts... )

and I PMed him (for the whole discussion see the photos, they can explain almost everything)















Summary of the scam:

This guy called one of his friend(without guild tag, obviously to make sure abput me he was new at this like me) and they talked about theese photos for their guild site home page.
We went to Greath Balth Temple and the facts were near the "holy" z-chest! Zomg!

So the scammer asked to his friend if he could make 3 photos: one of the item equipped, one of the item in trade window and (ta-daaaaa ) one of the item of the ground...the friend asked both me and the scammer to ping skills(to make sure if some shadow step skills were equipped. I wish I remeber there's "Ebon Escape" as no linked skill could shadow step...this is the scamming-key)...but we(me and the scammer) gave only the template skill withou pinging... what smart guys! ^^
Then that friend asked to me to stay far back...(and so make sure I can't stole their good stuff-that dude dropped a req.9 obsy edge and a tormented shield- with thier same trick...shadow step by ebon escape)
I did so...and they made their happy photos...
Then...It was my moment...scammer asked to me to make the 3 photosto me and my tormented focus(item equipped, item in trade window and item dropped on ground)
I did the the first one and second one(I'm a top model...couldn't refuse ...) but when it was the time of the third one...I made...a shadow step to the neareast outpost!!
SO I PMed the scammer about his "nice try"...and I got some bad words by him..(I couldn't post them on screen..sry...I'm a good guy ^^)

So guy...summary..be carefull..ppl like thoose make GW a bad place to play...

Keep it in mind...and be carefull again...


I just hope to be helpfull to the community with this report :/

If a mod/GM ask to me the scammers names, I'll be glad to give them.

Haha, that's a pretty damn clever scam...

They've surely gotten a lot of victims already.

It is a shame that this scam is active...

NEVER DROP WEAPONS...

Even if it is someone you trust.
The Trade Window is for showing members your weapons. Not the ground!

Grats on scamming a scammer out of a Zkey in the process.

Ill give you a second Zkey as prize, just give me your log in details so I can put it in your storage (DISCLAIMER: Dont give it to me or post the details. That was a joke )

New scam, old solution to solve it. Ignore them.

if they want pics of any high end weapons go to guildwiki
there are enough pics of those weapons there
good you didn't fall for it

I think a perma-ban it's a better solution.

NEVER drop your stuff on the ground. You're just asking to get scammed in my opinion. It's the oldest trick in the book and a gazillion QQ threads have been made about this... What's new in the world?

Same scam as always, you SHOULD NEVER drop items on the ground.

OMG, I saw that guy spamming last night in spamadan, almost decided to pm him and see if I could help. Have you sent these screens to Anet? (not that they would do anything about it *sigh).

Ya seems awefully similar to that Thirsty River drop your stack of ectos scam.

Anet will not help in this situation, as they never do anything towards scammers. If you get scammed, it's your own fault in the eyes of Anet.
