If there are skills that are specific to a certain branch of the guildwars series can you get them if you just have one version of GW or do you have to have every version to get the skills from that version
Wanted But Feared
I belive you need the game you want the skill from but dont quote me on that

You only have access to the skills that are included in your campaign.
i.e. You must have Factions if you want Flesh Golem.

Ok so if i went and bought the other series i would have the skills that are in them without playing that version? Or do i have to play that version to unlock the skills in the new version? Lets see i got Factions, Nightfall, and Eye of the North. If i bought the Prophecies and just installed it on my computer but didnt play it at all. I would still have all of its skills on my Nightfall version?
great sir s
yes you would, when you add the access key to your account that automatically gives your account access to everything that belongs to the prophecies campaign because you just added it, of course you would have to unlock/buy the skills but they are there to use

Not exactly correct.
To get skills you must not only own a copy of the chapter they exist in but they are only for sale inside that chapter.
For example you can NOT purchase a prophcies only skill in Kamadan or Kaineng Center.
However you can unlock any skill from a Priest of Balthazar (provided you own the chapter) then use a Tome/Elite Tome to learn that skill on your char.
With GW:Eye of the North you can only capture Elite skills there that exist within the chapters you own. So if you do not own Factions you will NOT be able to capture Dragon Slash even though a boss does have it there.

you can only buy prophecies skills from prophecies trainers. the same with skills from all the other versions of the games. not only that but not all skills are available from all trainers. for example, you can't buy mystic regeneration from the skill trainer in Kamadan unless it is already unlocked on your account. once the skill is unlocked, you can but it with any of your characters from any trainer in that campaign.

Or use faction points + tomes i find it easyier if i dont want to finesh game for a skill

Also, there are a lot of skills that are the same but they have different names because they are from different chapters.
