Save Yourselves! and Ursan
cmcookie
I run the typical Imbagon build when playing my paragon. I've recently been trying to get into an Ursan group in DoA using this build, thinking Imbagon + Ursan = unstoppable. But I got to thinking, and please correct me if I am wrong.
An r10 Ursan gets +20 armor.
Save Yourselves! give +100 armor to all other party members within ear shot.
The +armor bonus is capped at 25 when using multiple +armor skills, but is unlimited from a single skill.
How does SY! affect an Ursan?
If all of the above is true, an Ursan would be capped at +25 armor while in "bear form", and then only the monks would have the +100 armor.
Therefore Save Yourselves! would only give the Ursans an additional +5 armor.
Am I correct, or is there something that I'm missing?

well im not too sure but i would think that the +20 armour from ursan would be negated and you'll get the +100 from SY not sure tho

I'm pretty sure that only armor shouts negate each other... Such as ["save yourselves!"] with ["watch yourself!"]. Armor from ursan should be fine, I believe.

I would think that you would be capped at +25 due to the order that the effects are applied, but I cannot be certain.
I just wanted to comment that usually ursan groups are fine with 6 ursan +2 monk due to the DPS/knockdown/weakness that they are able to dish out. If the cap is in fact at +25, I would be sad to say that imbagon would be useless in an ursan group. I have tried as an imbagon to get into ursan groups and it just aint happening.

I have had the same results. No one wants me in the group unless I'm Ursan, yet I read on here that Imbagons are wanted all the time in DoA. I must be playing in the wrong district or at the the wrong time.

Whats hard to understand there? Everyone except user gets 100 armor.

I guess what I am asking is this:
Is the armor increase from Ursan Blessing applied in a similar manor as the armor increase from "Watch Yourself!", in which case "Save Yourselves!" would only allow the maximum +armor to be +25.
Or
Does the armor increase get added to characters armor rating (i.e. warrior = 100 armor (120 vs. physical)) and then "Save Yourselves!" gets applied which would allow +100 armor.

This is how I understand the armor cap:
Armor from skills will stack until you hit +25. After that, only the largest armor boost gets applied.
Here's a couple of examples:
1) If someone is running Avatar of Balthazar (+40 armor) and someone throws out a +21 armor WY!, then they'd only get the +40 armor.
2) If you're using Critical Agility with a Sunspear rank of 6 (+17 armor) and WY! for an additional +21 armor, they'd only add up to +25.
For armor and equipment-those stack! So if you're a warrior with Sentinal's Insignias (+20 armor vs. elemental) and somone throws out a +21 armor WY! while you're getting nuked (assuming you're wielding a shield), your total armor is 137 (80 base+20 Sentinals+16 shield+21 WY!). To continue if you're using +armor vs. elemental mods on your weapons (+10 on shield, +7 on you're weapon), your total armor would be 154 (80 base+20 Sentinals+21 WY!+16 shield+10 shield inscription+7 weapon mod).
So to answer your question the armor bonus from Ursan is neglected and all they get is +100 armor from SY!.

Thank you.
That answers my question.
That answers my question.

I'm not sure on the full mechanics of it all. I believe SY would give the +100 armour though.

I think it's pretty simple:
min(sum of all buffs, max(25, single highest buff) )
ie. if all your buffs add up to less than 25AL, you get all your buffs.
If they exceed 25 then you either get 25 or the single highest buff you have; whichever is better.
In this case, you get the SY! bonus.
Buffs don't include equipment, as mentioned above. Equipement contributes to the base level, if you will, rather than to the buffs.
