Weapon Glow Crafter
Skitsefrenik
Yeah this isn't WoW but people do like shiny and glowing stuff. What if weapon merchants could craft a glow to you weapon:
1 ecto + dye(s) + 10k = Shine
2 ectos + dye(s) + 20k = Glow
3 ectos + dye(s) + 40k = IDK
It adds more vanity and is not important but just a thought.

As weird as it sounds, I actually like the idea. God knows we need more things to spend ectos on. A couple simple ideas like this just may help the economy.

EDIT: Just so long as they'd make it so weapons are customized afterwords. We don't need glow-item elitism.

10 ectos + 10 shards + 100k = Lightsaber?
Just get a chaos axe, eternal sword, or some other flashy skin.

Why not?
make this like wow.
Icy = glow white/blue
fiery = glow red/orange/
shocking = glow yellow
ebon = surround by rocks.

Why would you need different intensities? You could just make different things (and make it much more expensive for a gold sinkhole) You can make flame weapons, ice weapons ... etc.
quickmonty
Since the Lightsaber is a one handed weapon we will need something shiny to go with it as an offhand.

I agree with that. Also would be a nice add on

As much as I love the Chaos Axe, I don't want everything shiny and glowing. That is the reason why I love the Chaos Axe, its Different. A+ for the thought.

I don't know about glow, but I'd definitely like to see a crafter make inscribable storm bows, chaos axes, etc. out of ectos.

I think adding a visual effect for various weapon prefixes would be better. ie, a shocking mod would add jolts of electricity to the sword or whatever. This way, it still adds uniqueness to some weapons, but comes with the price of sacrificing a mod slot. This way, it's not just a money sink for elitism and such.

It will go nicely with July's new tonic-Luke Skywalker
um....I guess I should say this just incase /endsarcasm I don't want any hate pm's on guru come july ZOMG IT WASNT LUKE I HATE U
Edit: That has been suggested before I believe raven. And it wouldn't be sacrifing a mod slot as things like ebon do more damage to melee classes and ice mod synergizes with necro skill Spinal Shivers along with all the ele conjurs they synergize with.

I'd rather have a whole knew set of craftable "Chaos/Eternal" weapons. It would still be a ecto sink and people would want them for their e-peens. Its a win/win situation! (win/win/win if they are able to be put in the HoM ).
Since the idea was made up with the want of a gold/ecto sink, here are other ideas I have/have seen mentioned before:
In simplest terms, have 1-2 sets per campaign able to be crafted and put in HoM.
Prophecies:
Deldrimor (just needs to be able to be put in HoM)
Titan [The weapon skins would work the same as the Titans themselves (they change appearance based on the area), craft at Glint after Titan Quests, Materials could range from Molten Claws (come on, they need a use ) to nearly anything, as they can look like anything. The rare material should be Ecto as Titans are "tormented souls." Best crafting materials for these that I see, Ecto, Wood, Iron, Molten Claws (say 25? Don't see why not) 5/10k]
Factions:
Celestial: [Crafted from Ectos, Sapphires (they have a sapphire look, kinda), and Spiritwood Planks, maybe wood or iron as well, for the common material addition]
Zodiac: (Crafted from Spiritwood Planks, Iron, and Ectos)
Nightfall:
Tormented: (already being put in HoM soon)
?Margonite?: (couldn't think of what else would fit, other then maybe Ancient, but I think Margonite fits better. Would have a look like the energy parts of their body with some skin/metal-like textures, basically a mix of Plaugeborn and Chaos/Eternal, craft from Ecto, Iron, and idk...)
Eye of the North:
Destroyer: (Taken care of)
?Slavers'?: (Can't think of a better name, very little things to go off of in EN. These could have skins that arn't like each other, but all having the same name. Crafted from various materials.)
Core:
Eternal: (Crafted out of Spiritwood planks and Ectos only, uses Chaos Axe, Storm Bow, and all existing Eternal weapons, along with whatever is missing of course :P)
Obsidian: (Already got an Obsidian Edge, why not have other Obsidian weapons? Crafted from Obsidian Shards, Onyx, Iron, and Steel, this would be the priciest, along with the Eternal set)
Prices can range from 5k to 20k, depending on the amount/type of materials used. Eternal and Obsidian would be the most expensive to craft and probably should cost 15k with those materials, and at least 15 of the Rare Materials.
Thats just my thought of a money sink, which would probably have more favor then just "making things shiny." Although the idea of giving weapons an elemental look would be good (the lightning, rock, fire, ice things, but what about my bloody vampiric weapons, would love to see blood dripping off of them ).

Let us turn any r9 max modded weapon into a green with a name of our choice would be awsome.

i think it is a really cool idea, and i would love to have a shiny/glowy sword/spear for my monk, or a firey sword/spear to go with fire ele. And yes i know about the other more popular weapons that you could use, but i would rather have something that many other ppl dont have

/signed for gold/ecto sink.
But not for crafters of already existing weapon skins. Suppose they did have a crafter that made storm bows out of ectos. Depending on how many ectos would be required, the value of existing ones would either tank or sky-rocket. If they stuck with the standard req 9 for crafted weapons, any req 10 or higher storm bow would be rendered worthless. If a crafter required a significant amount (25+) of ectos to craft one, the value of existing req 9's would sky rocket proportionately.
/end rambling

The idea of generic "make things shiny" is not too grand, but the idea of a new money/ecto sink is very much needed.
Hyper.nl
Requires ecto's again? No ty. Better use another rare material to raise the demand for those. Ecto already has quite some demand for obsidian armor and chaos gloves.

Only people who want big e-peens get obsidian armor and chaos gloves truth be told.
You are right that other rare materials need to be used so that they get a little more demand, but with ectos being so easy to farm, and so little ways to get rid of them (trader and armor only), they will lose value (or so is the belief) due to constant farming, and there goes the "economy" (which is not entirely true, although the ecto prices shouldn't be lowered any more then they have).
Your reason for other materials needed to be in the market is why I put Spiritwood Planks in some of the weapons in my idea a few posts above. Those are hardly used, so they should get more love.

Even if the costs for crafting that would be respectively: 100ectos, 200ectos, 300ectos it wouldn't help the ecto market, it would only help the ecto farmers! Wrong way!
And as for the idea of adding glow to weapons... isn't there way too much of these in all other mmos?

Don't see how this can hurt anybody. People like me who find fow armour ugly will have something to waste their ectos on, and people who don't like that idea just can not dye their weapons with this "glower".

As long it's a slight shine, not a Chaos-like glow, I'm with it. But... it's too late for this. If thwy had time and resources to do this, they would have added other effects to weapons already.
