Free Trial? Ha
slipknot2008
How is this so called "free" trial not free..? It makes no sense.. I'de love to play this game before I go and spend 30 dollars. I am so sick of WoW, and I only leveled to 35, so I think this would be a better fit, no grinding, but I can't try it out? Does anyone know why this trial is considered free if I need an activation code?

However, free trials are being phased out because of heavy abuse by gold selling networks and their spam bots.

The problem is, it costs money to buy the games which contain the code.. So really, you can't play a trial for free, unless you are very lucky with guildwars.com's promotions

When anyone buys one of the games it comes with a secondary code you can let a friend try it out.
You need to check out the forum section about trials and ask if anyone has one to give you.
Only other time I have seen "free" keys was when a new game is released you can buy a demo disk for a small cost and the price was knocked off the game if you bought it.
It is possible some stores have some of these left but I don't know if the code would still be valid.

next time try to see what the code is instead of QQing about it the moment you see the word code, its free and you can request one, how ever as chthon said they are being abused so maybe they will get rid of them

Both game there is grind. There is no such thing as a rpg-style game free of grind. Don't expect things to be handed to you.
slipknot2008
I know, haha, I said that wrong. I just meant no grinding for days and days, and I can get to the max level within a week or two, which is awesome.

GW has optional Grind
No one makes anybody grind to complete the game however if you want every title on every character and want to farm 24/7 to afford 15k armour on all your characters then there is grind aplenty.
Its optional because having all the above doesn't make for a better character the weapon damage will be the same ditto armour protection life points and energy pool.

There are at least two instances of required grind in Guild Wars, needed to ADVANCE in the game. They are the 10k faction quests in Factions, and two separate occasions in Nightfall. One is to r6 Sunspear, the other to r7, I think.
The NF part is pretty easy to do, as there is a separate level requirement and you can just level up, but the 10k faction quests require a bit of time.
It's nowhere near the amount of grind you have in most other MMOs, though, but it's not completely grind-free either.

Well if the OP is living in the UK then GW: Prophecies can be his for less than a tenner from GAME.

I'm pretty sure you can get to Lutgardis before 10k; you have to hit 10k to get the quest that lets you into The Eternal Grove. Not positive, though, someone back me up on this.

To the OP: I bought my son a copy of GW, I'll see if there is buddy code included when I get home, and PM you if so.

True getting the faction points is a bit of a grind I just did them with 3 characters to get the points which was easy enough.
Did the same for the other faction later on, factions is the only game I have completed multiple times it was fast and easy and got me a fair bit of money.
