What Does It Mean When...?

I want to try my luck terra tanking (E/A perma form build) UW HM in groups, and whenever I get into a group they ask "where dya wanna be? planes/pools/pits?"

What do they expect from you once you're there? Do you need to do a quest, clear the area of monsters, or what?

clear the area as far i understand, youre there to speed up the run the more monsters you kill the quicker the run goes also think ure meant for a specific quest called the four horsemen

Do they require that you do 4HM on your own or with another person?

Also, if asked to go to "wastes" does that mean kill all the smites in the area, or all the smites AND coldfires?
