You should be able to, like how you buy merchants and such, buy practically useless but otherwise lovely stuff for the Guild Halls. Like for instances:

Villagers: Wouldn't it be nice if you at frozen isle had a couple of deldrimor dwarfs walking around, or at nomads isle some ghosts, or wizards isle had ascalonians, or undeads at isle of death? Just a few, just for show With you can buy 1 villager at a time with a maximum of 20 or such.

Customizeable Guild Lord: Instead of just one you should be abl to make it like a ghostly hero, a deldrimor captain, a sunspear marshal, a kurzick or a luxon captain and such.

Put up banners with the guild emblem around the hall.

I think those kinds of things would be nice to have

When I goto the guild halls, they just don't seem like they are alive. Its just the hench, and some people standing around there doing nothing. If some activity were going on, even just people walking around, perhaps some random conversations then it would give it more life.

This could be a small-scale gold sink. It's kind of a start for what GW needs, albeit much too late. Customizing Guild Lord probably wouldn't happen, because it might make GvG awkward.

i would love to see this. it would be an interesting way to spice up guild halls the other suggestion you made about chouseing who is there would be nice too why do all guild lords have to look the same why cant we be able to chouse from like 3-4 same with merchants and other npcs.

Guildhalls should look more like people live there, not a random spot of flat land in a swamp, cave, etc.

I've killed a god, slayed Shiro (twice), and stopped the titans from taking over Tyria, yet I live in cleared spot in the forest, sleeping on brown dirt.

you know what would be sweeet?? houses in gh! yes yes, far beyond Anet's potential now, but just think of houses all the guild members could buy in their GH and they have to pay monthly rent, plus they get to display all their items in their rooms, to me, that would be even better than a HoM piece of crap, wel. soon to be much better after changes. But yes, the house idea i thought would have been an amazing idea, then people can like really live there, sell and auction their items through a house marketplace system, have fun w/ writing letters and msgs to other players that they haven't seen online in forever and when that mailed person finally comes online they check their mailbox and this would allow messages to be sent to people that are offline! The GHs could have a city or town of houses for that guild! that'd be rad. anyways, that'd be the ultimate upgrade to a GH, it would make the guild halls much larger.

something similar to 2ndlife would be nice iMO...fuly decorable GH would be quite nice..! also customisable guild capes? design them ureself in adobe? and upload for a guild may be cool - total individuality ?
