gem stones drop

do margonite, titan etc gems definitely drop from the end chest of the respective area? or is there a chance of it and isn't guaranteed? i ask this because if you do a full run of DoA that will cost you 7k for the conset, but you will get back 5k from selling gem set, and it would be a pretty awesome way to make money. also which is more profitable to get 15 sets and sell and armbrace or to sell the sets each? thanks

well each set sells for approximately 11-13k, and an armbrace sells for 100K + 10-15 ectos (anywhere from 140k - 175k (assuming ectos are at 4k each with 10, and 5k each with 15))

You will sell aproximately 15 sets in comparison to selling an armbrace, which will, in turn, generate 165k - 195k.

So I could say that the gemsets are more profitable, but they're harder/take longer to sell.

They always drop out of the end chest. I you do a full run you get 1 for the first, 2 for the 2nd, 3 for 3rd and 4 gems for the last area you do. So you will get atleast 10 gems for a fullrun, and a gemset if you complete the quest

Is the armbrace the most expensive part?

no, the most expensive part is spending 243728972164912 gem sets on coffers in attempts to get Armbraces and Mallyx's (yes people spend over 15 gem sets in hopes of getting an armbrace via coffer of whispers).

such as me, while all i get is either: 5x lb scroll, 5x Elixir, or 5x torment :S

In Hardmode, double the amount of gems will drop from the chests, giving you 2-4-6-8 gems of each type guaranteed.
