Question about HoM

I was reading that there has been a change in the way HoM is going to transfer things to GW2.

As one example,

I have the destroyer sword. My monk is currently the only toon that I have that has the tap to display the sword as my other toons have not done much in GW:EN yet cause I am getting points in Norn before I do the quests planning on getting rid of some of the grind at the top end of the title.

This sword that I have I wanted it for my WAR of course so I did not place it in the monk HoM.

From what I have read if I make my HoM Account Based then I can put my sword in the HoM and then not have to worry if it will link to any of my toons that I create in GW2?

Is this correct?

Well, the wording is somewhat nonspecific, and everything can be left up to some sort of interpretation. Plus, the only info we have is what was posted on the dev page.

With that being said, I would say, that since it's going to be account-based, then you wouldn't have to worry about it being linked to a certain character. So there should be no problem, regardless of what character puts it in there.

But that's just me and my opinion. Most of it we'll just have to wait and see about.

From what they posted at wiki. That's sound about right. No one knows when they will update the HOM though.

Remember those stuff only onlock something in GW2, not transfer.

that is indeed right, however since you cant trust a-net i would suggest you wait until they actually make the update to do this, this is the same reason i havent made a new char for survivor and LDoA yet. Im just gonna wait for update

You know that is interesting, my thought about the post from dilan155.

This might be the reasoning for the change.

The survivor and LDoa are mutually exclusive. One toon can not get both of these titles at least as far as I am aware.

So I can just hear the old timers from Prof screaming about not getting one of the unlocks for gw2. These guys that invented lvl 20 in pre are legends themselves.

Makes you think cause I can hear the conflict now in my head.

I agree it is still too vague atm, just wait for the update.

It isnt even sure if you can wield the same weapon in Gw 2, They only said you will be regocnized for your deeds in gw1. This doesn't mean you can get your destroyer sword out of the HoM, could be though. A-net also stated that the HoM is account based and with the coming update they are making that real. Just wait a couple weeks

From what I've read I take it that the update will allow you to toggle from account view to character view. Some character will still have to dedicate the weapon at the hall of monuments though, so if your monk dedicates the sword it will still be customized to the monk and show up in the monk's individual hall. But, if you then toggle to account view the sword will be visible there also. That doesn't mean the warrior can use the sword that the monk has dedicated, only that the sword is displayed for the account.

When the update comes out you can put the destroyer sword in your warriors HoM as it will customize it to him. But it will be displayed when your Monk visits his HoM aswell. After this update people will be going for LDoA so they can display both LDoA and their legendary survivor statues in their HoM.

its actually not mutually exclusive, you just need a friend wiling to put as much time as you are. This way instead of you death leveling and you kill them after the mob levels up. but ya i get what your saying though

There isn't a hard res "legally" in pre so the only xp the char would get would be from killing your friend twice at most. That's not enough to raise their levels enough for a higher level character to get xp from killing them.

My understanding of the update is that the HoM will be account based. You can toggle between account and character displays for your char, but that will only affect what that individual char sees when it enters the HoM. When you put your sword on display, it'll be there for all your chars to unlock whatever for GW2.

But again, all we know is the same blurb that you have read. And until the update comes out, nothing is set in stone.
