They'll go back up sooner or later. So I'd keep em for now. Favor is going to run out in a day or so, so that should boost prices at least a little bit.

The price of ecto's rises when people buy ecto's from the merchant.
And since the price is going down it means that people are still selling more exto's. Seems like people think the 3,5K they get atm is more than enough.

seems the better part of common sense says sit on them until all these factors shake out. namely favor runs out, perma shadow nerf, hopefully z keys mysteriously disappear. seriously, i ramped up a sin for the perma farm and piled up 500 ecto in just over 2 weeks. im good now. seems like a nice hedge against the economy. hopefully they wont bottom out lol. if they do?? well its back to unid golds, runnin, core farmin on hard mode!! what else can ya do right. roll with it.

I'd hold on to them. I highly doubt Anet will permanently let them be as easy to obtain as they are now. Too much whining going on, and Anet always caves in to whining from the masses. Then they will go back up, and you'll be happy you kept them. I'm not selling mine because I'm maxed on gold anyway.

Has anyone considered the possibility that Anet is destroying the price of ectos on purpose?
I mean GW2 is just round the corner and maybe they are thinking its time some of those goodies that new and not very good players have been unable to reach for so long should now be available to all at more user freindly prices.
After all the reason for this sudden drop in ecto prices is pretty much down to the perma sin build. Well Anet only recently buffed that self same build. Ursans are running wild in both Fow, Uw and DoA and nobody seems interested in stopping that.
Even with a temporary loss of favour I cant see the price in ectos going up to the old rates. So many people have hoarded so many ectos now that its just a matter of time before the bottom drops out of the market completely.
Of course I may be wrong, and you may see your ectos suddenly become worth 5k again soon.
Lets wait and see shall we

I've already sold my ectos while I could for a decent price. TBH I don't see them coming back up to previous prices.

/agree and i also think that anet did this to stop online buying of ectos and in game gold for real money.

In my experience, other than small up and down bumps, the price of Ectos has been constantly going down. Way back they were 10k+ each, then shortly before EotN they were 7k-ish (average buy/sell), then a while ago they were 5k, now they are less than 5.
But, as I always say - it's just play-money, why worry about it. Buy some more, get yourself FoW armor.

Keep them, they will likely go up again soon, when (?if) favor runs out and SF gets nerfed. It doesnt make sense to sell now.

When favor runs out you just use all the dozens of scrolls you got when you were farming or wait a few minutes for favor to come back. So it might slow the drop in price, but that's all since we will have favor except for a few minutes out of every hour.
