In my NVIDA folder their are two folders, those being "Win2k" and "Win2kxp"

"win2k" branches into "175.16" then "English" then the actual files.
"Win2kxp" branches into "162.18" then the files.

Is one of these redundant, they both look like driver names to me? I use Windows XP 32bit and it seems odd to have two separate driver folders.

(these things" "designate folder names)

P.S Thanks

Fixed it for you, well I'm not completely sure with this - I was kind of wondering on some of these random files myself.

As a general rule, don't delete stuff if you don't know what it does.

Since it's in your drivers folder, I wouldn't mess with it. But if you do, and it screws something up, you'll just have to reinstall the driver. So not the end of the world.

More than likely anyway. But I wouldn't delete it regardless. No real reason to.

If the folders are located in C:\Nvidia, They are safe to delete.

As most ppl know when downloading drivers you only download 1 file (the executable), now when you open the file it unpacks the driver's setup files (which are those folders), next the program will autolaunch the setup.exe from those folders to install the drivers.

After the drivers are installed and you reboot the pc, those folders are no longer needed and are just taking up space.

Hope that answered your question.

Thanks, since the actual update executable was on desktop i didn't know the set up files are placed in C:\Nvidia and assumed they were oddly placed drivers.

Useful for a re-install, but one of the first things to dump when your HDD is running low on space.
