What is the deal with primary att weapon drops?

I don't know about the rest of the gw playing community, but whenever i get caster weapon drops, they tend to have a req energy storage, soul reaping, divine favor. This seems to happen especially with platinum scepters/staffs and silver boar scepters. I'm always on the lookout for curses based weapons and offhands but they never ever drop for me, how about everybody else out there?

I don't usually pay attention to those things but usually when I get a caster drop it is for Air Magic or Earth Magic it seems. Atleast on Tyria.

A lot of items as you say actually only come in primary attribute req's.
Which is annoying since they're not nearly as useful.

I get a lot of SR based drops when I kinda need curses and death wands.

For some reason ANet randomly decided to make inscribable Domination requirement Platinum Wands much to my pleasure. Can we have Fire, Illusion, Curses, Healing and Restoration Platinum Wands too, please?

The good thing about being a mesmer in GW:EN is that a lot of the weapons that are tied to primary attributes for other casters are tied to Domination or Inpsiration for mesmer.

This is a very annoying problem, strange that people start to realise that only recently.
This problem affects all the EotN wands and staffs (exception is the recently added Bone Dragon Staff) that are not tied to just 1 attribute and inscribable Zodiac Staffs/Scepters, Platinum Staffs/Wands, Boar Scepters, Scepter of the Forgotten and Pronged Fans.
I have posted this many times but I'll repeat: Staffs and Wands for the primary attribute are almost completely useless and are a waste of great skins.
I was trying to find a nice req. Protection staff... not a crafted one... and there's only ONE - Bone Dragon Staff.
Sad.
All those ~15+ damn Divine staff skins that would be awesome... like Ghostly, Zodiac, Celestial, Platinum, and All EotN staffs ... no chance for a useful one. All divine... useless

I can't remember when was the last time I used a non-spear/shield combo.
If though I'd want some modifiers - I'd go for 20/20 combo wand/offhand.
If the point is a pretty stick - then who cares about it's stats - as long as it's pretty!

A lot of the specific skins (like platinum wands) have non-primary reqs. They just only drop from the zaishen chest (at least, in more significant numbers), which gives Anet a way to keep those types of items rare. After all, any item that can be farmed by conventional means become absolutely worthless (lol ectos).
